I am a Chinese not from China. In my Opinion this Drama is first class. Best of Best. The Male lead fits in the role very well. He is mature (not old) rough, manly look, with good body frame (fit) and intelligent. His acting skill is number 1. The female lead is a classical beauty and charming too. Acting skill great ! Very Good. Both Male and Female Lead have wonderful chemistry together. This is a must watch Drama. Not a moment of boredom. Love this drama.
I think Chen Kun sings on it. But I invite you to watch "The rise of a Phoenixes" with Chen Kun who is very talented and beautiful and Nini who is very beautiful, it's an excellent Drama
It is a shame for people who judge this movie just because of the appearance of the actor/actress. And all the newspapers just make us misunderstanding about this movie that they told it has the same content with others. But actually they dont know how good this movie is, so touchable and it moved to my heart. The acting is just so real and wonderful that makes me feel like I am living with the characters, I can feel their pain and love for each other through their eyes,their face expression. And this movie deserve to be more famous than many other movies. I dont know why Chinese dont like this movie 😢

Yes he fits the role of God of war, his character is a mature/old age so it really fits him, he is almost like the same age with Lord of thunder coz they grow up almost together
I wish that everybody who watches this show can form an opinion without biases and prejudices against Chang Chen. I know he is older than most male leading actors in our current time, but he still after all one of the greatest actor in China's entertainment world.
Maria Fallins I feel bad for Chang Chen because he just looks older in general but people don’t realize that he is the same age as Chen Kun who was the male protagonist alongside Ni Ni in The Rise of the Phoenixes. I hated the long hair on Chang Chen. He also looks so much better with his facial hair 😆😆😆
Actually he looks good for his age, and still young compared with the actors in most western dramas, he ain’t that old. I really admire his acting that’s the reason why I had watched this drama for more than six times,
I'm sure that Chang Chen knows that he is older than the rest of the actors of today, so what? We all going to get older, and I think he has done a phenomenal job in this show, he delivered what was expected from a male leading actor regardless of his age and look.

An actor doesn't have to be young or have a baby face to be the best choice for a lead role in these dramas. There's so much to admire in Chang Chen! 💗🌺
AngEli V hell yeh! I agree. Chang Chen is naturally very blessed of having a good looks and talent. Also, I think that he is a nice person and a humble man. I love his dimple. I love his portrayal in Love and Destiny. I’m afraid that our societies have an obsessions with looks rather than substance. Chang Chen is still very attractive at the age of 40 when he made this drama. Thus, you can imagine the pressure on him to deliver a performance of his life just to proved the point. Well, done Chang Chen. Great acting.

Wath I liked about this drama was the fact that the main lead couple actress and actor are not the pritty idol standard chinse beauty. She is beautiful but in a very clasical way and he is charming in a rough and manly way. The acting was on point with the caracters and the story. It was a charming love story with a good evolution of both caracters that grow both as individuals and as a couple in unison wich is realy sweet. The fact that the drama was more concentrated on bilding the actual caracters from their mutual experience and not only on the romance aspect is a big plus. The only minus was the rushed end that in my opinion needed a little more explination to be more complete. But is still one of my top 3 favorite dramas.
Lelia Voinea The show portrays a mature kind of love, the first time I’ve seen in the CDrama land 😂 The main leads acting was soooo goood that most of the time you don’t need words to know what they were feeling or thinking about. Even the supporting cast was good (esp God of Thunder, his so misunderstood but a good guy deep inside). And love love the set!! It does not fail to transport you to a different realm! Best romantic drama I’ve seen for a long ong long while,
I understand what you mean. I grew up watching c dramas, historical and ancient era were my absolute favorites. I'm fond of the flims made during the 90s time period. Their storytelling was well made. Their generation of actors and actresses have talent and a wide range of classically attractive features.
I agree with you... I love that the main characters are not super duper try hard to be perfectly good looking.. chang chen smile is to die for lol! Coz he was so serious all the time as a god of war.. from eps 30 to 50 nothing much really happen.. it's a waste of eps.. im expecting that there would be another war.. but nothing.. but still i love the drama.. im glad that i watched it.
This drama truly is the best of it's kind and achieve another level of Chinese Drama! I have never re-watched any drama for the second time all over again entirely, Love and Destiny is exceptional. And even re-watching, I felt even more enjoyable than the 1st time. Both the main actor and the main actress are phenomenal! They truly are the TOP NOTCH. Their acting is deeply heartfelt and so vividly that those characters become so REAL. I highly recommend this drama as a must-see and as a "collector item" that would be re-watchable over and over again like tasting the best wine or tea ever.
People saying the male lead is too old... like seriously people he is playing the god of war character, how do you imagine a god of war ? He needs to be (look) old. Some people cant understand this. If you notice in ten miles of peach blossoms Mo Yan was old too who played god of war. In my opinion chang chen is the perfect actor for this kind of character. Plus he looks mature and very serious. 🤷♀️ lastly I would like to say that I have been obsessed with this drama and this song especially!!!
Silver geonzon No, you're not alone 🙋🏻I'm so glad I discovered Chinese and Korean costume dramas several years ago...I was hooked since my first one, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. I was so impressed by how beautifully done and well acted it was. Since then I have binge watched many of them while staying home 😷and haven't been disappointed yet 🌺

Although I admit that the only dramas ive seen is TMOP, Ashes of Love, LAD and Pillow book 😊 i have to know that its a happy ending before watching cause CDramas tend to give sad endings that make you depressed in the end 😂😂😂
Finally! A fairy drama that's surpassed Ten miles of blossoms. I had doubt at first but after just 2 eps, I was sure I like this film even more than Ten miles. And the best thing's that it's not the sequel or prequel. Just a independent story which has it own unique characters and storyline. I were watching The Pillow Book (the sequel of Ten Miles) but I dropped it immediately when I finished the 2 first eps of this one. Highly recommend.
I'll have to agreed although I watched both LAD and TMOPB, LAD still capture my attention more. Their love is just so pure and the storyline is more subtle and easy to understand as for TMOPB it's quite messy as there are many characters and love stories.
@@fahimej5213 I finished watching it. The love story of Feng Jiu and Dong Hua is very sweet but I still find the story too shallow for my taste. The Pillow Book really just suits for those enjoy eye-candy actors and romantic moments. Vengo Cao's acting is good but I cant say the same for Deliriba. She's very pretty but her emotional expressions are very limited. Only those cute and innocent scene she'd done well. As for supporting roles, they are just there for plot explanations. It's quite forgettable comparing to L&D.
Hoang Nguyen the same thing happened to me too!! I started watching the pillow book and the first episode was boring so I watched love and destiny and this is the third day of watching. I’m already on ep 56, about to finish. Is the pillow book good?-because I think love and destiny is way better especially the chemistry, plot, and this ost is beautiful.
LifeIsBeautiful Fantasy it almost upsets me that this drama receives so little recognition. It should be listed among best dramas of 2019 and the best fantasy drama of 2019. I find it a better version of 10 miles of blossoms, Ashes of love and The pillow book that has just released.
This drama was one of the best I've seen in a while. The protagonists act perfectly in sync, even in the backstage they have a lot of fun - and they have acted together in other films as well. There's a feeling, there's a special understanding even if there's an age difference of at least 12 years between them. He's bloody sexy, she's so pretty and sparkling... Ni Ni is fantastic, she's a model, beautiful and pretty, cheerful and always smiling, while Cheng Chan is one of the best international Chinese actors on the scene in recent years. The fact that he is now 45 and she is 32 I think doesn't affect the beauty of this drama, which has a crazy plot, is very long (60 episodes) but never tiring, in fact, she should deserve much more. The music is fantastic: Aska Yang and the other singers have really done a great job.

It’s an extraordinary feeling that cannot be explain overnight. Human emotion is so intrinsic that every human being watching love and destiny can identify how well this drama penetrates into the core of our existence. The power of kindness and unconditional love conquers it all.
I’m in love with them deeply, they two attracted me a lot to watch this drama and It becomes one of my favorite fantasy Chinese drama. Kudos to Chang Chen and Nini and the rest of the actors as well as the productions. If you watch behind the scenes, shows how much they work hard during filming. Everyone is so talented and hard working. Chang Chen is so mature looking and handsome 😍 He look a bit like Andy Lau. Behind the scenes, he was laughing, playing around. And yet, he played his character so well, he looked poised and serious. When he act boyish and desperate to save Ni Ni. That is good actor. I like this drama very much and re-watched many times. It's very well acted and the storyline is not just a romantic love story. It touched on human relationships, empathy, love, trust, friendships, & responsibilities.

Eternal love is pretty crappy. Quite boring. Prefer this one too. It's even better than ten miles in my opinion. Ten miles is very much just romance and good looking actors but this one has more depth, in my opinion.

Just found out that the Chang Chen was the young dude in crouching tiger, hidden dragon. I was also one of the many that was skeptical about his casting but now I can’t imagine anyone else but him playing God of War! he is amazing❤️❤️

What an amazing drama. Although it didn't quite make me feel the same way as TMOPB, it was still an absolutely gorgeous and touching production. I did wonder why they didn't make the flute that Lingyue gave to Le Bo a more important part of the story since that was my initial impression of it.
Viki is up to ep. 26 with subs now but the wait is driving me nuts!! I can’t wait, I love when the serious characters go silly in love. It’s my Achilles heel!
