Several parts of this video still give me goosebumps years later, but especially the creation of Gensokyo. This is easily the single best overall Touhou video that exists.
@@kencolac2860 IIRC, the Dragon god only laid down the initial foundation for Gensokyo, and the Yokai sages are the ones who finished it. Unless I'm mixing up my lore.
I love this fandom so much, i wish i couldve been there for the glory days. I cant wait for touhoufest 2023 ill be able to see all the people i couldnt meet back then
So glad to have found this again...... I remember being on an old Touhou forum way back when the first 'opening' dropped, lots of speculation that it was a teaser for an "official" Touhou anime lol, there was so much excitement. Still impressive, of course, when we found out that it was a fan project. I've been a Touhou fan for nearly 13 years now, and I still miss that forum and those "peak" days of the (western) fandom. It would seem that the "Touhou boom" has somewhat passed, but even still, it is incredible and deeply moving to see such love still shared for the series and the fan culture surrounding it. And to see new people continuing to discover it...... Such a gift ZUN has given to the world.
We can't deny that golden days of touhou already passed but it's such a gem that shouldn't be forgotten. I'm really sad that they gonna close dankagu servers...
I know Touhou since 2019, liked the music, and then in 2021 I wanted to explore more of the games and the lore about it, and now I just really like Touhou in general. This franchise has everything it needs, and seeing those videos just make me remember how much I love it.
The ending song is a remix of Heian Alien, I believe, the part with chibis is a remix of Beware the umbrella left there forever, the first OP is Necrofantasia and the 2nd is Yuka's PC98 theme, Faint Dream ~ Inanimate Dream I think? Also baaaw I love this the animation is amazing!
My cousin showed me this when I was 11 years old. Good memories. Yes, I remember first time hearing anime as an alternate saying for japanese animation.
@atyazlier Yes it is her ancestor, the first shrine maiden of Gensokyo (Reimu being the 13th(?)). In fact is has to be her because you see Yukari making the Gensokyo border.
Soo, we got fandom stuff right off the bat (Alice being Alice), creation of Gensokyo with "young" Yukari and pc98 Reimu, duel between Marisa and Yuuka, and Yuuka's double spark. Very Epic
@colonel24567 @colonel24567 wiki ahead: Both of them are humans on the outside world who know of Gensokyo's existence. Maribel has visited Gensokyo in her dreams.
NEET Kitten hi sorry I didn’t see your comment response to one of my comments from my old RU-vid account but I just want to ask you if you have any proof of gensokyo being real and if it is how would I get to gensokyo all by myself without yukari gapping me in?😅🧐
@@Touhou20246 gensokyo is a place where those who are forgotten about are spirited away, a yokai haven/sanctuary if you will. The only way a normal human could reach gensokyo from our side is to be completely and utterly forgotten about.
Graham Holbrook I know that it’s just that I have had recent world events that kinda cause me to want to live in gensokyo instead of our world because I feel like that I would be able to easily fit in as a resident of gensokyo because I would be willing to convert to either Buddhism or Shintoism because I actually find myself legitimately agreeing with the philosophy of both Buddhism and Shintoism.😅👍🏻😑
@roy491 Sometimes I still spell wrong name between Satori & Nitori. I just play up to Touhou 10, so I don't know which Touhou they're from to type their name. Thanks alots for your comment :)
In the second OP, here are the words in the very beginning. "To be brave is to love someone unconditionally without expecting anything in return. To just give. That takes courage, because we don't want to fall on our faces or leave ourselves open to hurt." - Madonna. "There is always some madness in love. But there is also always reason in madness." - Nietzsche I might be wrong (the words move around very quickly) but that's the best my ability...
@Sephenara Following the link I left on Details, there's mediafire link. In Music Folder, there's a song named "11 - Fragments of a Chronology.mp3 " It's the song you want ^^
OP2 (when Marisa fights Yuka) is "YU-MU" a vocal arrangement of Yuka's theme, you can listen to it here: watch?v=5sxnuTwXPTI ED: (I'm not sure) it's "When I wish upon a star" The Cheering squad is "RAiNY STARS" I beleive.
Check the mediafire I leave on info. In Musics folder, there's a song "11 - Fragments of a Chronology.mp3". It's the full version of the 1st song you want.
@lorthebird Thanks for the info ^^ I know 2nd OP is Yuuka's Theme, but I didn't know that's from PC98 ^^" To all Touhou fans, Touhou need to have anime series T^T
Is it possible that the circle "Yukari?" and Reimu's ancestor created was the start of Gensokyo? It would make sense for the Youkai and Shrine maiden of Borders to be the ones to make the border of Gensokyo and cuttin them off from Japan
That's the case, but adding more information to the matter, besides Yukari and the Shrine Maiden, there were also Okina, Kasen, that gigantic dragon and I guess a few more. Those responsible for the creation of Gensokyo are officially known as "sages".
OMG! Ive seen this video over... carry the one... To far to count, and I never noticed that she was in the background in Eientei. That camoflouge-suit works wonders. I need me some Kappa Technology~
@OkashiiKisei Thanks for your comment ^^ There's a pic that point Reimu before classic, I don't know what's it said? I can't read Japanese +_+'' So I think 1:42 is Reimu. At the 1st time see it, I also think that person is Reimu's distant ancestor...
Nice subs, and good idea, marking the chars as they show up. I found a few small things though. 0:47, you noted Nitori, but that's Satori, Koishi's older sister. 3:25, Miche? You may just be using a name for her I don't know, and that really wouldn't suprise me, but I know her as Medicine, doll turned youkai who can control poison. 5:06, the two unnamed are Yamame Kurodani and Kisume, 11's 1st stage boss and mid-boss, respectively. Other than that, great job =P
@KayJordan17 I saw it before. At that time, I don't know what's it and just think it's something look like a huge part of umbrella T.T" Now I have seen it cleary, it's a green dragon, thanks for remind. ^^
long time since i saw this video, now seing again i noticed an detai: "arrangement tim vegas" ohhh! i didnt knew this name back in the days that i used to see this video, now its an familiar name, i never realized he made this song too
It's only fan made Ops and stuff? but they sure did a hell of a job on the animation characters looks like a legit Anime..... How I wish it was an anime
I dunno, if that were the case then he probably would have told the creators of the voicepack for Hisoutensoku to call off their project. That, paired with the fact that many PVs made by rather famous Touhou-related companies have specific voices for each character, one of the most notable being IOSYS.
Ah, was hoping that someone would add character name tags to these videos. It is a convenient way to introduce the characters to non-Touhou fans. Thank you. There is one thing I have to note however: The shrine maiden at 1:42 wasn't classic Reimu but in fact Reimu's distant ancestor. This part depicts the creation of the Hakurei Border, hundreds of years in the past. The creature in the sky is the Dragon God, the supreme deity who oversaw the creation of Gensokyo (he/she should also be tagged).
@KayJordan17 I legitimately thought that was Shenron, but i wondered how that would be possible at that moment. Only possible thing i can think of what it was.
