I think the only reason we can't have a real Tohou anime is because, the creator of Tohou deemed to series to be open to everyone so studios can't license it, therefore no profit.
I believe his official reason is that he didn't want an official anime overshadowing the games. Plus I suspect most publishers would try to pull some sort of corrupt scheme to take the series from him, given what a gold mine it is. Case in point, the current scandal over Kemono Friends.
京都幻想剧团' is a Chinese Touhou fanbase making anime/pvs, doing this is VERY hard and costy. People are just holding with their passions for Touhou.
For me, it's good that I do not have an "official" anime, normally the anime adaptations of video games are terrible (see Hyperdimension Neptunia) I'm satisfied with the Touhou anime made by fans, even if we have to wait a year for the next episode.
a lot of Yuuka related stuff in this video is a call-back to PC98. For example Mugetsu and Gengetsu bringing in the box (they are assumed to be Yuuka's servants), Yuuka falling asleep on a Lotus flower (a call back to Lotus Land Story in general) and the transformation at 2:30 from PC98 to Windows with Reimu seemingly shocked and at an awe of seeing her again
Touhou Project is very representative of Japanese culture and folklore. it's the most proficient series that deals with the traditional culture of Japan
@@carelessdreamer well, I do consider that actually to be very not representative, because it's commercialized, it however an wonderful example of how distorted traditional Japanese folklore is in mainstream media portrayal, and that's one reason why many people get Yokai for example awfully wrong.
@@Wei-HsuLin I think making things humanish is done all the time, compared to monsters In touhou some characters like Nue Houjuu are still referencing the Nue
I just had the happiest jumpscare of my life watching this because Mugetsu and Gengetsu especially are my favorite touhous ever, and I never thought id get the chance to see them animated in a PV anytime. Sure its just for five seconds at 0:22 but thats more than enough to make touhou fandom's biggest dream world twins enthusiast lose her mind at 5 am
The focus is more on Yuuka, but I recommend watching the PV for Dream Refrain! It's focused on Lotus Land Story. ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j2U7cSwHNsU.html )
Yeah. Phantasmagoria games kinda feel forgotten in history of Touhou and that's sad. I mean they have great characters, music and split-screen gameplay feels kinda cool
@@IsmaelQ2Q2Q22 Niceee my boss is gonna be happy when I say him that I found one who wouldn't resist Just prepare some ice and please bathe we had a lot of trouble with dirty sa. i mean donors We are coming in about 4 weeks or so
That part of Nemesis' Stronghold makes the song sound better, when Yuuka goes from LLS style to PoFV style. It's not in the description of the song tho.

She is Onozuka Komachi, her job is to ferry souls who have died in the outside world across the Sanzu River (the river of the dead). Basically like Charon the ferryman from Greek legend, except with red hair and breasts.
Isn't the *shortest* wait at least 1 year? I think one of the episodes of a past touhou anime had a wait time of about half a decade. Feel free to correct me.
It's funny you say that because while I was browsing different touhou animations, I've found 4 PVs that I have not seen before in the span of 5 minutes. Some look great while others ehh.... let's just say they're kind of, "rough" around the corners. I will say though out of all the touhou animations I've seen, The Sealed Esoteric History is by far the best, animation and story-wise.
PV typically stands for promotional video as far as I'm aware so it could be a promotional video for a song. Although it does say Doujin Anime so I would also assume it to be an anime as well.

This was never supposed to be a full production anyway. Just misinformation by reddevil. Kyoto Fantasy Troupe is busy with a different animation entirely.
I look at"amateur" projects like this, with great attention to detail, then I look at the BBC's shoddy and clunky attempts at animating lost episodes of Dr. Who. The more I see these the more the BBC has no excuse for their crap work. But then again, even the BBC's shoddy attempts are more animated than the Chibnall-produced seasons.
