Lullaby of a Deserted Hell est déjà l'un des thèmes les plus beaux et mélancoliques du Projet : et là, on a droit à un cover splendide qui part totalement ailleurs par rapport à l'univers pour créer des paroles qui sonnent parfaitement adaptées, remarquablement musicales, sur une voix qui les porte à merveille. Magnifique !
C'est vrai que c'est fascinant, on dirait vraiment une musique issu du cinéma français (dans le bon sens du terme, hein, pas "qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au bon dieu"...), aussi bien dans son instrumentation ou dans les paroles, on imagine facilement une histoire en huis clos sur la vie mélancolique d'une gosse imaginative dans une famille de la "bonne société" à Paris, dans un appartement cossu du 16e, et qui finit par s'effacer... et ce sur une musique d'un jeu japonais où une prêtresse ou une sorcière doivent défaire la fille-chat qui amène les corps en Enfer pour empêcher un corbeau aux pouvoirs divin de provoquer un holocauste nucléaire. Raven's Jig et ZUN ont vraiment tous les deux un talent incroyable.
Mais... Mais tout à fait, je dis oui, mille fois oui à ces belles analyses * - * (et à cette excellente mise en perspective, je visualise ça hyper bien !) Et effectivement, ce n'est sans doute pas tout à fait un hasard si Lullaby of Deserted Hell passe *aussi bien* en français, considérant à quel point la musique d'origine sonne "Paris idéalisée" [insérez un son d'accordéon ici]. Contre-proposition de mise en perspective : usage à la fin d'un film du studio Ghibli - façon générique d'Arrietty chanté par Cécile Corbel, qui a vraiment la même sonorité je trouve ! Oh, et point bonus pour ce résumé simple et efficace du scénario de Touhou 11, ça a quelque chose de beau et d'absurde condensé comme ça en français en une phrase xD
I suppose I _could_ give one of my usual essays about how inherently lovely Lullaby of a Deserted Hell is, and the idea that it could be made even lovelier seems preposterous, and yet here this is, and mon dieu it's in _French,_ and why haven't I heard about Raven's Jig before, and Rin is just unbelievably gorgeous here, and every time I'm floored at how much awesome music the Touhou fandom's created it one-ups itself... but no. I'll just sum up my feelings in a single word: Me-OW.
It's always nice to introduce unknown circles to Toho fanbase in the west so I'm glad the name of this circle also heard by other people all around the world
Thinking about it, that's actually not thaaaat surprising (although my first reaction definitely was WOAH * - *), considering how the original music has these strong "idealized Paris" vibes - you know, these magic vibes that can immediately transport you to the romanticized France that only exists in popular culture, if you start playing using an accordion x) In any case this is definitely an unexpected and fantastic cover!

Mike Roth and the usual song lyrics are most of the time about sex, party and sometimes love. Always the same singers showing us always the same kind of music, the "original" ones are very hard to find and young people are followinh the trends without even believing there could be something else on this world
Well, to be exact medias are only giving us the same singers/groups/kind of music. Which means TV, radios, highlighted french artists on spotify/deezer etc. However there are very good french musicians/singers/groups, it's just an incredible pain in the ass searching for them as they're burried under a thick layer of shit. Exceptions are doujin circles like this one (already knew them but it's nice to see them here too), as french doujins are people who love what they do and aim to do it at their best. So you'll end up with quality content, even if the singer/arrange isn't perfect. That's pretty much true for doujins circles in general. But yeah, the socio-political context in France makes it hard, moreover the government and the medias are feeding us false/useless information, they all work on misguidance campaigns (they aim to divert our attention outside of the important topics). For instance should you type BFM TV (24/24 7/7 news tv channel), you'll a lot of french memes about it since this news channel (most watched in its category) feed so much false/incorrect information, hide so much of the truth on the topic they talk about etc, it's insane. A good example is how they handled the information about the recent typhoons that hit straight french isles in the pacific but I won't make it any longer. Edit: and, oh, yeah, the song here is very nice :D

I really like both (and, to be honest, any good cover of Lullaby of Deserted Hell), the incredible number of ways fans can reinterpret Touhou lore and music is my favourite thing in the entire fandom.
