東日本大震災から来月で10年になります。発災15日後の2011年3月26日に、津波被害の現地調査で釜石市から宮古市にかけて訪れた際の映像と現在の映像を比較しながらご覧いただきたいと思います。
第三回目は大槌町吉里吉里地区と山田町の織笠・山田・大沢地区となります。これらの地域に限ったことではありませんが、明治三陸津波と同程度の津波を想定した防潮堤をはるかに超える大津波で甚大な被害を受けております。東日本大震災ののような大地震は数百年から千年周期で発生すると言われますが、地球の歴史からすると一瞬の出来事です。次いつ来るか分からない災害に対して、10年前の悲劇を教訓に、風化させずに次の世代へ繋いでいかなければなりませんね。

In response to disasters that we do not know when the next disaster will come, we must learn from the tragedy of 10 years ago and pass it on to the next generation without letting it fade away.
