Thank you for the video. Any sharpening video you can post is more than welcome. Could you show us any tips on how to hold the knife handle in the future videos? Thank you again for your work.
When I grind the body of knife to let there thin, I grip the handle weak and push body strong. When I make the shape of edge line, or let the edge sharp, and so on, I grip handle tight. If my gripping power are weaker than pushing power, I cannot make angle of sharpening as I wishing. Sometime I grip knives by thumb and index fingers, sometime by middle, ring, and little fingers. Grip by various fingers to fix the angle on a case-by-case basis. If the gripping power of middle, ring, and little fingers are weeker than pushing power of thumb, knife will be pushed strongly to the stone. It let the heel part of knife thin, and it may let the edge line curve. Your focus is correct. In many cases, gripping the handle is more important than pushing the blade. When sharpening with the left hand on the handle (if you are not lefty), you should be particularly conscious of gripping with your middle, ring, and little fingers. You should also be conscious of swinging your upper arm back and forth. It is very difficult to show which finger I'm holding tight in the video.
