@@deddyrahadhian3268 yeah if you read the description it’s an experiment (at least they’re up front about it) there’s so many city-pop mixes on YT with a lazy looping gif that people just play in the background never crediting and looking up the actual artists that they wanted to see if people would notice a fake Ai one. I don’t know how I feel about AI but I can’t deny that first track really captured citypop.
This is amazing work! I definitely believed it to be real until I noticed the sort of "auto-tuned" voices and thought "wait, citypop didn't use auto-tune!" and that's when I realized. You really captured the vibe of that era! I hope you do more stuff like this!
There was no auto-tune. It sounds like this because the vocals are manually filtered to be seperated from the backing track, giving an "auto-tune" feel to it. Real auto-tune sounds very different from this.
I didn't believe it at first when it was ai but i tried looking songs up lol. Crazy we are witnessesing greatness! Hell of a time to be alive! Thank you I do hope to encounter more of these.
Amazing! Imagine all these songs were made by AI, how wonderful, more importantly, they all sound very good. Also many thanks to the creator for the lyrics. really loveee them. Could not imagine what AI can do in the future, excited.
This video is amazing! The City Pop music and female vocals give a perfect 80s experience. Thank you for creating such an emotional and nostalgic musical space!
Hey ,nice work! I didn't realized it was AI until i read comments xD Just one thing it's a pity that these songs are not uploaded one by one on your account, i feel like it would make them even more "real" idk, like you would check a playlist or smth.
I don't really want to pollute the space of real songs any further than I already have with this video. If they were sung by a real person I'd feel better about presenting them as individual songs, but the intention behind this video is more taking a dig at the youtube 1 hour music mix genre.
@@Boinciel Fair point! Since i discovered this mix i am obsessed with this one Nemuri no Beat 眠りのビート - Nakada Suzuko 中田すず子 (1988) Such a nostalgic vibe i love it !
I wonder did any of those artist were populat in any other coutry outside Japan? I know in ex Yugoslavia we never had a chance to hear those song! Never knew Japan artist sounded so funky!
I totally understand the parody of this experiment, and I also support the efforts of real music artists in any way I can. But I just wanna say that these songs here are bops! I can't help but wonder, how did you make these AI songs? If you don't mind me asking, which programs or tools you used to generate these songs? Thanks
Thanks for your full consideration. As noted in another comment, the concepts and lyrics are written by me with ChatGPT assistance. Once I was happy with how they sounded, I stuffed the lyrics into Suno and went through multiple iterations. I tried to pick out a version of each song that had a distinct character fitting to the song, didn't mangle the lyrics, didn't have poor quality voices, and didn't have boring instrumentation and vocal performance. For the 16 songs here, it took about a month's worth of generation between my account and my wife's. I was able to also use Audacity to fix most of the minor errors, volume balance, add proper fadeouts, blend between different versions of the song to make a whole, etc. Due to the nature of it being AI generated, the performances aren't going to win any awards for clean audio, but it's good enough for background music in the car. The album art was all generated with Bing's image generator. I used GIMP to modify the art to make it less AI looking by giving each person more imperfections and massaging out AI weirdness. Fontwork was done via LibreOffice's wordart equivalent, again subtly adjusted with GIMP and adding real record label logos to several pieces. I'm not entirely happy with how real the art turned out, as there tends to be a bias towards sharp noses, perfect teeth, and thin jawlines and arms that I had to modify each time - and not as much variety in pose, zoom level, and other things that make up impactful reference album art from the era. The real ones had a bit more variety in terms of subject, too - I ended up focusing a bit too heavily on the "upper body focus shot" when some might have been better served with an anime album cover, scenery, or something else with a bit more design sense. Video editing was done in Vegas. This was my first time using it and it was a nice exercise in getting to know the program. I managed to somehow get all the video edited without too many mistakes, but rendering the source video to 60fps for the added art assets caused a myriad of issues with the video clips and it took forever to render due to the changed framerate. I'll need to think a bit deeper about how to tackle the next video I make with it.
@@Boinciel Thanks for detailing the process of making this project ^^ I'm more or less already familiar with Audacity but I'll give Suno a try for generating music! Wishing you all the best in your current and future projects ❤
Oh damn… it’s AI created ones! I like the style and like it musically but the voice quality is very unstable it’s a bit shame I feel hard to listen the whole with the low quality voice samples… no offence!
It's no good if you're listening with headphones or good quality speakers, but it's okay via car stereo or as BGM from across the room for doing something else. For the record, I live in Japan and my wife is Japanese but I myself am not - sorry for the confusion!
I keep coming back to listen to this. Pretty good for AI! SUMMER is the best in my book! I hate to take away clicks on you, but I am going to buy this album off bandcamp. It has that groove that just smooths me out. It'll also sound freakin' awesome on a bike cruise around Lake Kizaki in the summer! Arigato gozaimasu!
Just realized these are AI generated songs by reading the comments. I would prefer if they were human-made, but I cannot deny that they're absolutely great. If AI creates stuff like this, let's go.
I was fooled, i did not read the info... i thought these were real artists, i was searching for the songs in Apple Music to add to my playlists 😭😭 I don't know how you made this possible but gooood shit!
