Hello again from Taipei! This is a brilliant upgrade! Whenever you take out your precious "Veritas" Optical Center Punch, I know something very precise must be achieved right here, right now!!! Love your precision and systematic way of doing things! By the way, love the complete top to bottom shot of your new panel saw! It is standing tall and proud! Great work my friend!
Like Robust Chen says, when ever you pull out your optical center punch, we are able know how perfect it is going to be. Great production again with the pleasure of previous masterpieces feature in the process. ❤ and blue thumb as usual. Domo Arigato Sensei.
Saludos.
Everything you have done and the purpose of this tool in this video is absolutely amazing, but I am curious how to make sure your steel plates are flat because all of those are your next basic after magnetic block. Thanks bro,
I dream to be beside you but I am Egyptian , I have the honor to be student in your academy. you are the great professor in the world of wood machine maker I see , thanks for what you producing 🙏🙏
Depth adjustment can be stopped at any position by inserting a piece of wood into the linear shaft. For fine adjustment, just adjust the amount of protrusion of the drill. This method gives an accuracy of ±0.2mm.
Nice, I was hoping to see this made. One thing I wanted to bring is at the end I didn’t see you level the steel flat bar pieces. You glued them down, but couldn’t the bar pieces add a lot of errror?
Considered. But springs are useless without a lever handle. A weak spring doesn't make sense. If the spring is strong enough, it will be difficult to push the drill by hand.
I can't believe how sloppy you were with the length of the steel plates on the base, different sizes, not up to the usual accuracy I've come to expect of you 🤣... beautifully simple and elegant device, now made even better ... thanks for sharing 👍 Have you though of adding a tilt mechanism?
hi love your videos im always impressed by your ingenuity and skill... could you possibly link to where you bought the magnetic base from i would like to have go making one myself
Do a search for "kanetec MB-PG" for the type used above ... looks like you can buy them most places (price depends on size) or you could try making your own ... relatively simple mechanism using a few magnets 👍
It's great thank you !!! I went on your web site to have more info, unfortunatly I could not find the buton to get the automatique translation. If you can fix that, it would be awsome. Thanks again
Вообще всё здорово!!! Не давно подписался и пересматриваю все Ваши видео!!! Жаль чертежей нет, но и так доступно и понятно. Интересный прибор для керна точек. Как называется и где можно купить. Очень нужная вещь в мастерской.
I want to make, but not with 3/8" chuck. I have 1/2-20 inch threaded chuck, but can't find a straight rod for it with 1/2-20 inch threading on the tip, so I can attach the chuck to a smooth straight rod. Any ideas?
No problem. The manual for the magnetic base has instructions for points that can be additionally machined. I don't think there are many youtube channels that are investigating and working on such things.
Hello, from italy, great project, like all the others I've seen you make (I recently discovered you), I wanted to ask you which bit is the one you install on the spindle at 04:40, it's the one that creates the seat for the head of the screws, you have Any link to buy it? Now I'm going to look for the video of your drill press, very interesting!
It's like this. amzn.to/3PmL9hm I only know Japanese names. If you like my vides, please share the video with your friends and on social networks. I am happy to have different people watch it.
@UClArzi-fOX93nVr5xgY8Fsg Great! thanks for the tip, thanks to your information and those of JSK I was able to find them, frankly here in Italy I had never seen them, not even from other youtubers
@8:07 , what did you do to keep the linear bearing locked onto the shaft? I've tried several ways, but I'm yet to see one better than a lock collar with thrust bearing
Do you mean linear or ball bearing? A linear bearing would normally be held on with a circlip holding it into the pillow block. But @8:07 it's the ball bearing.
@@aries6776 no. The linear block bearing (looks like a SCS16UU) and it normally slides up and down the linear shaft that it's on. But his is held in place. Normally a stop collar and thrust bearing are used in a situation like that... but I dont see it. So, something is keeping the bearing from sliding up/down the shaft, while giving it a free range of rotation, thus allowing the chuck to spin freely. But even then, the linear bearings in a UU style wouldnt hold up well under a spinning design where the shaft rotates inside the bearings. So, I'm just confused. Lol
@Darren Garden ughhh those are junk! Plus only 3/8" chuck. I was going to make with 1/2" chuck, with 1/2-20 threading, but I can't find a smooth straight shaft with that thread. :( Kind of a bummer that JSK didn't make it more effective. A portable drill press like this is no good if the chuck you use us junk.
Here's my advice, you put all that work in the magnet + base side, but the chuck + shank are not that good. I'd look for a junk drill press, there's gotta be at least one or two in your area. A rusty old small bench top one. Take the spindle + chuck from it, perfect for this.
Hallo ich finde deine Idee einfach perfekt, ich wollte dich fragen, ob du für mich einen bohrständer bauen kannst? Die Kosten übernehme natürlich ich. Mit freundlichen Grüßen
I originally made this drilling machine for the purpose of drilling holes in large plates of metal. jisaku-koubou.com/3582 When I used the tool in my woodworking work, many people asked me how to make it. Therefore, this drill press has been improved so that anyone can make it.
