Something I've noticed about Last Days is how a lot of aspects to it -- the far more personal story behind it, all the nods to past songs with similar themes like Live Again, End of a Life or even L4DL, and the more upbeat sound and bittersweet conclusion -- almost give it the feeling of a grand finale of sorts. I think if you hadn't assured us already that you were in it for the long haul, I'd be wondering if Phantomime was the final Mori project ever. That being said, congratulations again on the album release! And thank you for taking time to talk about the lyrics and your creative process with us, even though it got much more personal near the end. 🤗
I love this album so much, not just for how amazing the individual songs are on it, but for how much it gets me excited for what else you can do. Leading up to this release, I was one of the deadbeats excited that you were becoming more rock-focused, but now I feel completely differently. I love the rock you've been doing, but I listen to Donmai and think "OH she can do something more bluesey or southern!" and then I listen to Last Days and I think "oh man, she can completely shift into powerfully emotional music that sounds beautiful and highlights how much harder she can flex her vocals now" and so on and so forth for things like Midnight Mayoi and Cult Following. I still like your rap, I still love your older music now, but I feel like me and maybe some other deadbeats had felt like you've reached a new genre to settle into when maybe you've instead opened up hundreds of more branching paths to explore musically. Whatever you decide to do, I'll be along for it though!
Hey Calli, to be honest although I've been a fan of hololive for a while, I never really got into your music. But I really love the ethereal vibes and the interesting lyrics you have with your quieter songs and I can't stop listening to Skeletons! I know you're known for rapping, but your singing voice is actually so unique and full of color. Would love to hear you sing more too!

did Mori just break the record for longest outro in Hololive history there? whenever a new album or EP comes out, the lyric dives are always something I really look forward to, I love hearing about the creation of the song itself and insights Calli has there were a LOT of layers in Cult Following's lyrics that I didn't initially notice which really made me appreciate it on another level! and Last Days... honestly, whether the lyrics are something personal or written to be more in a general kind of experience, you have this way with writing those words that still impress themselves onto the listeners heart either way it's more than the 'omg just like me fr fr' thing (though that's valid too within reason!) it's more like... maybe it's not the exact same kind of experience or context, the message of the songs themselves can touch the heart of people who may have been feeling or felt similar emotions; happiness with friends, anger at things you can't change about the world, the frustration of past choices and self-reflection, grief and by the end of the album, there's this feeling that continuing onward is always worth it, because then there's always a chance for new happiness or understanding about yourself and if it's not there tomorrow, it will be there someday (...and sometimes there's Metal Gear) that's the message I got from it anyway ^^ thank you for giving us such a special album, Calli and sorry about the rambling ^^;
Your new album is amazing. Some of the songs are fun bangers to listen to and some others have similar vibes to past Mori songs (like "End of a Life", "Scuffed-Up Age", or "Wanted, Wasted", to give some examples) but with more improvements and emotion behind the lyrics than before. The stories behind the lyrics of each song show a great picture about your journey and how much you improved on your music and singing since you started way back in 2020. Another great album from you alongside "JIGOKU 6". Again, congrats on the new album! ❤

Amazing album Mori absolutely 💯 , and one of the things that I really love about this album is that your voice absolutely dominates. What I mean is that your vocie controls the song vs sometimes in older songs it's hard to hear you beautiful voice due to the background music stepping in front of you. But in this album none of the background dared to get in your way...T~T honestly kinda cried cause this album feels like your in charge again. I hope you're proud of your work.

I think that getting a new release where you have a new favorite song every day is the sign of a job well done. Concerning your discussion around 52:00, I personally love the background approach of ZUTO and Eve. I think it’d be neat for you to incorporate as you’d like It certainly gave me inspiration to try to partner with local artists and try to create little tunes inspired by them. Your journey with Universal started a little rough, but with time you managed to gain more control over the direction of each project, Jigoku 6 and now Phantomime reflect your true power in my opinion. I love this album. It's the best one yet. There's alot a variety in the genres and the moods of the songs and they all play to your strengths. I'm very impressed with Cult Following in particular. Mixing pop and nu metal so well in the same song it's amazing.

Hey Calli, I just wanted to say thank you! The music you make has made such a huge impact in my life. Today my wife and I said goodbye to our beloved 18 year old dog Charles who fought so hard to keep alive but the pain was too great we had to put him to rest. Last days is really helping me move forward and have a more positive outlook on his passing and through the blue is helping me keep my spirits high through this sad time. On a more positive note the entire album is awesome and is so diverse, it’s like the baskin and robins of Calli. Donmai and skeletons are definitely my favourites of the album but last days is gonna hold a special place in my heart. I’m not able to fully convey in words how much you and your music has impacted my life but you’re doing amazing things for everyone and us Deadbeats. I'll say, an album like Phantomine is a great reminder of why we all love and support you so much. Seeing how far you've come with your artistic mindset and creativity has been a wonderful experience, and this album has just about all of that. You got songs that that hardcore metal like feel to them, and then you have songs like Last Days which have a very emotional and melancholy feel to them, it's a great mix of everything you have to offer. I always appreciate these lyric dives into your music. You have so many complexities in the words you choose and so many thoughts about every single minute detail that enhance the songs to even greater heights. This really showed on the dive for Last Days and through the blue. It made me feel like they're parts 1 and 2 of a singular, bigger song. Man, PHANTOMIME is truly a special album.

I know I've said a million times before how grateful I am to see your process laid bare like this, so instead I'll say how awesome it is to see how that process and your overall lyrical skill has evolved. Even in the darkest of times, there was always a silver lining but in this album that thread was much more apparent despite diving into rougher waters. Your time here has made you stronger, both emotionally and musically. I can't wait to share songs like skeletons, DONMAI, and through the blue with people I know will appreciate you as much as I do and who could use a song to help them through their days that will relate to them and affect them in a positive way. They're so meaningful, most musicians don't even do their own lyrics and they give half-hearted interviews about "yeah the song really spoke to me on an emotional level about how we all have stuff we deal with, yeah" You both have real things to say in the songs that you write yourself and share what you mean with us in depth. That's worth all the support I can ever give. You're an inspiration to many, you'll find out more and more those that you've impressed for the whole rest of your life.

That feels especially true for this release, so glad you were able to express yourself through these songs. Not to be a fence sitter but it’s too hard for me to pick a favorite song! Which probably again just speaks to how hard you’ve worked on this.
I always look forward to these full lyric dives. Hearing your inspirations and though processes on these songs gives so much clarity and really changes my opinion on a few songs. After listening to the album in the past 24 hours, Phantomime is at the top for me with Unalive. I love so many songs in these releases. Anything more specific I'll leave in the comments for the songs, but Last Days may be tied with Scuffed Up Age as my favorite Mori song. All of the references to the previous songs, the melody, the theme and message, its all some of the best work you've done. All of the work and effort you commit to and the genuine sincerity in reflecting on how you affect others shows in your songs, and its why I'll always be here
I see cult following as more of another song that takes aim at haters, but rather than antis vs calli its antis vs deadbeats. And kinda don't let them get to you because we have each other and our oshi of course

I want to preface this by saying that I really appreciate any and all of the "behind the scenes" content you let us see, whether that's MV making, lyric dives, also the new holomelo has been really insightful. It's past my bed time, but I couldn't leave in the middle of listening to the lyric dive....and then I stayed for the whole album outro I had more to say about the lyric dive, but sleep brain has wiped it all out pretty much. I really like Phantomime! I think skeletons, Last Days and through the blue hit me just a bit too hard to have them as all the time listens, but that does not mean they are not beautiful songs! If anything... too beautiful? these tracks also wouldn't be out of place as an anime or drama ED, I could absolutely hear them as one Cult Following and DONMAI are definitely my favorites of the album though. I can't help it, I really like listening to that type of music! Really reminds me of 2000s era rock Okay it feels wrong to end without saying something about the rest of the tracks too. Sneaking revenge was really cool! I like the original, I'm a big fan of works that reference other works and oh boy does the original Sneaking have a lotta MGS references. Sneaking revenge loses a lot of the references in the music, but it replaces it with frankly a banger guitar track, and Lotus is a great pair for the rap! Go-Getters is also a nice bop, it's very easy to listen to, and catchy to boot! Overkill originally didn't sit with me, it actually took me quite a while to warm up to it, but I enjoy it now! I think your live performances of it have been great! Midnight Mayoi and Tide are very well made, I'm looking forward to seeing how you continue to collab with other artists!
I was not having a great week... I did not want my excitement and hype to get diluted, so I thought to wait a bit before tuning in to the album and this stream. But I lost to that thought, and thank goodness I did. My time listening and vibing with yall made me forget the week that just happened. Not to mention... my goodness. One of my favorite parts about your music still is your lyricism and how you write a lot of your own lyrics, please never change that; it makes your songs so uniquely you. Yup, the songs alwas hit harderd after the lyric dives lol, I dont mind finding my own interpretation but learning all your thoughts and feelings behind something 9/10 ends up making it speak to my soul even more, and this album is no exception. Not only that, just seein how much your music has changed and grown as you did, and beeing here for the journey is an absolute honour. Your lyrics have been on aonther level this time around, the thought put into them is always stunning and they mange to bring out everything they need from rage to tears, loved also hearing little fun production facts along the way, and i 100% belive you should produce more stuff, they always turn out great.
