I watched both of my parents pass away. Mom had stomach cancer and Dad had a stroke and heart disease. Even though they didn't treat me as well as my brother I was there as much as possible

Covid robbed my mom of the chance to see grandma before she passed. It was so hard on her. I know it was probably hard but know you were blessed to be by your loved ones side.

My grammy was a great lady and I have quite a few silly but happy reminders of her and I do remind myself how blessed I was to have her in my life for so long. Be blessed my friend.

Erm, maybe it's because it was normal when I was growing up thst im thinking this, but you say the kids were teenagers, so im baffled to why it was such a big deal that he left them at home when he went out, afterall teenagers from the age of 13 are old enough to be left alone 🤔 after all when I was growing up it was normal for teens to fend for themselves, hell my parents went away for a few nights together leaving me at home from age 12/13, at that age I was also babysitting looking after other people's kids and also had several.part time jobs and paying half my wage as rent, so, I don't see a problem leaving teens alone while their parents go out, infact I dont see a issue with leaving them alone while the parents go away for a weekend, afterall this was classed as a normal thing while growing up, plus at that age they are old enough to know how to look after themselves and be able to cook themselves a basic meal and look after the house for a few days. Saying that back when I grew up during the 80s, kids started to learn to do things for themselves from a very young age, we were taught to cook basic meals just incase we needed to make our own tea, we also knew how to clean up after ourselves and do our own washing etc from age 8, afterall our parents were not always home from work when we got in frim school, of course we didn't have our parent play taxi all the time or pick us up, we walked to school or used the school bus when it wasn't within walking distance, when we got home we either went to our after school job or were left a list of jobs to do to help out our parents, did homework and started it all again the next day, so doing washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning etc 😅was totally normal for us and no we didn't get paid to do these things like so many kids do today, i can just imagine the slap id have got if i ever suggested getting paid to do such things, we got money by working, doing jobs such as babysitting, dog walking, shop work, paper rounds, cleaning other peoples houses, doing odd jobs for people such as mowing the lawn, and doing seanonal work such as potatoe picking and beating during shooting season on farms, and of course half what we made regardless of how old we were went to our parents as rent, i was paying rent from the age of 12, afterall i was old enough to make money, i was also old enough to pay rent 🤣,as for helping around the house, we lived there therfore we had the responsibility to help out. Kids definitely have a easy life compared to how us gen x grew up, I doubt most kids today would survive a week of how it was when we grew up, 🤣
