If Will wants to be so insensitive about her dad instead of supporting her ,then he can pack up his stuff and walk right out of that 🚪 door. Because his behavior is unacceptable.

If i had anyone like Will in my life, being insensitive about another person in my life, like being in the hospital and then blaming me...there's the door.

She needs to show the in laws the texts to see Wills plans for dumping their future care on someone else.

Him talking about how there's a risk that she might have cancer, too and needing to be careful and prepared for the future wasn't that horrible. The fact that he then turned it into a "joke" instead of a legitimate "I'm worried about your health in the future considering your families medical history." is where he lost me.

Yeah, that's not grounds to divorce your wife. That's grounds for her to say, "This man is useless and an oathbreaker. Not only did he break his vow to be faithful to me, but he broke his vow to love, honor, and cherish me. He broke his vow to support me. He broke his vow to be a companion to me. He broke ALL THE VOWS. And honestly, I should have used the money I made to just hire a housekeeper, because he couldn't be bothered to put his own underwear in the hamper."

Will is some piece of work. I knew he was up to something when he wanted each party to stay at their parents house but he went full-on ahole demanding inheritance when he refused to go to the hospital or funeral. Not that he has ANY right to inheritance to begin with.

When my grandmother died, my dad her son-in-law was at the hospital with the family. They didn't get along. But he loved mom more than anything. He didn't miss the funeral for even a second, we were at all the viewings, the wake, the church service and burial. He never brought up inheritance.

This story reminds me of when my father passed away 5 years ago this July. It's still hurts to this day but I keep his memories alive in different ways

Will bringing up that cancer runs in her family and she might want to consider she may get it also is not insensitive. Saying he was joking was insensitive. As a person with cancer in four generations of my family it is something I try to keep ahead of all the time. Yearly physicals, mammograms, Pap smears, colon tests, bloodwork, urinalysis, information on any new medication prescribed to me is just what I do because great grandparents, grandparents, parents, brother, cousins, second cousins, have all had cancer. Some survived and some didn’t. It’s something to think about if it’s in your family tree.

If my husband acted like this when my brother was dying in the hospital... there would have been two funerals.

Her mistake was allowing the first affair to go unpunished. The first time you dip your oar in another pond is when you make the rod for your back. No sane person would ever accept the unfaithful one could become wholesome ever again.

Wow Will is a piece of sh@t!!! When my father was going through his treatment, my parents moved in with my older sister and her husband. My BIL took my dad to his treatment 3-4 times a week for several weeks. Helped my mom and sister with his care!! That’s what a supportive husband does!! I will always remember the kindness my BIL showed my father!!

Up until her father died, I was kind of on his side - I have a sister who always had to have all the emotions in the room - her pain and worry and suffering were the only topics of conversation (none of the rest of us were allowed to have any emotions - we were supposed to support her and provide an audience for her excessive drama) so I can't stand that kind of person. The cheating got pretty obvious. When that happened, I changed to being on Weepy's side.

I just heard this story on another channel this morning. Different voices, same story.

Will was a real piece of work. Both my parents and I went to the funerals for hubby's parents. He went to my mom's. Hubby became ill with terminal cancer. And, unless he wasn't feeling well, he STILL wanted me to visit my father daily. Dad eventually got to where he couldn't live alone and ended up in a home. And while I couldn't visit him as often, unless my husband was really bad, he still wanted me to visit my dad. I lost both of them within just a few months of each other, hubby in April, Dad in November.

Personally i flund this story as six of one, half a dozen of another. He was incredibley insensitive in some of what he said but she was also oversensitive .

And he FINALLY gets the right point, he did not THINK,!!!!

I think his behavior would have been more understanding if he were a robot that didn't understand human emotions and pain, but even an emotionless robot would pick up on how much of a jerk he is being.

When my dad was passing, my husband called him to say goodbye, & got in trouble (OTR trucker) trying to get home to see my mom before she passed. If he would have done what this guy did, he would have been out before my dad's funeral....

This brings back memories of my dads last few weeks on this earth, he had stage 4 metastatic lung and spinal cancer

It's unfortunate that she stayed with him the first time but love is weird sometimes. Hope that side chick is forced to feel embarrassment for being a homewrecker, I'm guessing she dumped him after things fell apart especially since he was transferred to another place. I imagine she probably feels not only shame but disgust at finding out what Will said to his wife(I imagine the texts involving him being insensitive got shown to certain people) while yeah from what I can tell she was aware of the wife(going off OP never mentioning the girlfriend was in the dark which is usually pointed out in stories) she probably didn't know about some of the terrible shit he said. If he could be insensitive & blame his wife for her father dying from cancer then what would he do if he ever married her? I want to imagine his family either distanced themselves from him or cut contact completely(depending on the person) thanks to learning not only that Will was cheating but how insensitive he was to his now ex-wife. Will before being transferred is shunned by his coworkers & maybe some petty ones even act insensitive about his situation to make him feel how his wife felt.(probably not on the same level but still) The family members that distanced themselves but haven't fully cut contact probably haven't cut contact so they can see how he's doing & throw shade at him if he calls to beg for help or complain.

Job's more important than wife's father'' funeral? They will probably be more bothered by his neglecting his wife and family and expecting an inheritance from a fil he didn't care about. Not a good image for anyone who might be representing the company.

You know, my dad died recently and even though he got on well with my parents my husband NEVER ONCE expected to receive ANYTHING from what mum and dad left between my brother and myself. The same applies to my sister-in-law and she did a lot of the caring for my father [I live on the other side of the world], I am simply unable to comprehend the sort of people that these texts continuously throw up as being ''normal'' people. Both my husband's parents and my parents did not leave anything to the spouses of their children nor to the grandchildren. My husband & I are leaving everything to each other, Whichever of us is the survivor then can do whatever they want with whatever is left. Since we have no children and I'm not close to any niece or nephew, I am seriously considering leaving whatever there is to 2 or more charities.

As someone who had to take care of my mother thru a long illness that ended in her death I really don’t understand how Will can be so insensitive. At least as my mom was ill/dying my husband was right there with me trying to help as much as he could. Unfortunately my mother died last year and I still haven’t really come to terms with her death. Mom lived with us for several years before she got sick, and even though it’s been over a year since her death I still haven’t cleaned out her room completely, it’s just too hard for me. As an only child I was extremely close to my mom, honestly other than my husband my mom was my best friend. Also as a cancer Survivor I find it highly offensive for anyone to make “jokes” about it especially if they’ve never gone through living with cancer themselves before. Even though I’ve been lucky enough to have been cancer free for 12+ years now I still worry about it coming back & since it also runs on both sides of my family I worry about my daughter developing it. It’s extremely hard for others who’ve never been touched by cancer in their life to understand how stressful & heartbreaking it can be. I do believe that there are some things that you really shouldn’t “joke” about.

I had to abandon this story. My dad died 3 months ago, and this whole thing is just so annoying to listen to. And inheritance? Her mum is still alive - wouldn't she get everything? My dad left 100% of his estate to my mum; we didn't get a penny (and won't until mum herself dies). Don't they do that in the US? I've been through a parent dying and, while cheating is absolutely wrong, I have to say some of the feelings Will had at the beginning of the convo are valid. Just because your life is challenging that doesn't give anyone the right to marginalize their relationship. I didn't make my husband go to the hospital because it upset him. I can accept that and didn't fault him for it. I took care of my familial obligations but didn't put the rest of my life on hold. That wouldn't have been fair or respectful. Will tried to talk about his feelings and she shut him down. He shouldn't have cheated ever and she should have left him the first time he did it cause once a cheater always a cheater. Both screwed up though. I would hope she gets some therapy before trying another relationship.
