I want inheritance story where the money goes to charity but the MIL tries to steal the money back from the charity and gets arrested. It would be slightly different than the same old recycled scripts

How does she have a pension without ever working? She might be able to claim on her husband’s pension, but it’s usually less than the husband was receiving.

Yeah, if we offer money to our parents, great, but us white kids don't ever tend to plan on paying our parents a penny "in return for raising us". Unless it's nursing home fess- which my family have recently discovered are extortionate! ESPECIALLY as the amount my grandad pays per week funds himself AND part of the care for a resident placed in the same home by social services! Almost ⅓ of the 6 grand a month is going towards funding another person's care! My grandad worked hard and saved all his life, and we're just watching the money plummet in his bank account, and that is _so_not fair, but there's nothing we can do. Social residents need to be funded by somebody, and as social services won't cover the full amount, they've gotta get it from somewhere. That "somewhere" being MY 94 year old grandad! And that's just disgusting!!!!😠😡🤬

I helped my family out, but I was never forced to care for them or repay them for raising me. I didn't ask to be born but I'm making the best of it. I would never force my child to take care of me either. That's why I saved up for retirement

Nonsense, the surviving spouse is entitled to a specific percentage of the estate. You can't screw a spouse like that. The percentage is set by state law. She's also entitled to maintenance for a year.
