Every time I try character modeling I get to somewhere like 1:35 and I think to myself "that looks like absolute garbage" and just give up - seeing this makes me realise that's a normal stage and maybe I should just push through
I mean... if it's incomplete, of course it would look incomplete. In 2D art, sketches are the same, they're just one stage of the whole process That's why I'd rather push through to complete something rather than leave it half-cooked, if you get what I mean
Keep working on it, trust me. I started learning blender 1 year ago and begun to work on a vtuber model 8 months ago and yeah, it always looks bad at that stage. As you continue doing other parts of the model, specially the hair, it will be easier to see what's wrong and what you have to fix or polish in the face.
One day when the skill is sufficient we can come back and see it analyze it and learn from it by ourselves without the need of a tutorial. I know I will. I'm grateful for the timelapses uploaded that let me see the actual workflow, just raw modeling. The teachers are also appreciated but this is like field day
@@Ally-Oozyin games and animations they usually sculpt a higher poly one and retopology it to a lower version but it's easier since there's an option for auto retopo or even if manual you can set it to snap on faces. with that, they can just focus on making a good topology for animation. after that, they bake the shadow cavities and highlights from higher version to low poly so it will look like the higher quality version
I normally do geometry by hand its easier because of the prettier topoly that you don't have to decimate or retopology. But I am still searching for a good sculpting tutorial, I know the essentials but I always have so many problems with it.
You do it so quickly, even though its a timelapse.. You do a really great job, you sure have lots of experience. I hope I'll be able to do it as good as you someday :)
the method used in this video is almost exactly the same as the one used in mmCG animetic's tutorials (theres a playlist). they are in japanese, but if you use google translated captions and just look at what hes doing you can already learn a lot. iirc theres pretty much no timelapses and it really goes into detail. i havent checked dikkos tutorial, some things in it might be different since its not an anime style tutorial, but since its in english it might be easier to understand.
Thank you for showing what blender can do can make anime character this good you make linux users smile. I've enough of open source applications been treat as 2nd rate alternative to paid software.
I feel like she's the kind who'd say "I don't wanna play with you anymore", only to quietly squirrel back to your side bit by bit because she does want to play
But you could even thought I have and in some ways it's easier to learn and some ways it's harder you just gotta learn a lot of mechanics. Also it's free to try out so why not?
Hey thanks for your step-by-step tutorial, in some parts i had to set speed to 0.25 but still a nice tutorial, my looks somehow different, that is normal but still pretty good. I have a head completed as of writing this, but slowly working on the other parts too. Big hearth for posting such a great tutorial. Sugoi!
the way u creating issolation, rerouting, etc on the topology is impressive, I hope I can be better using blender to create my own art with my own artstyle
Its amazing how you make it using "old school" method and its so clean. I wonder how much time you need to make that from scratch to finished. #thumbup
Hello, i want to ask about how you learned all the skills you have on Blender (seriously your models looks *AMAZING* ) ?, i was thinking if starting to work with 3d modelling but it's very complicated with YT tutoriais :(
When i watch these timelapse, i always wondering about doing the same.. but i'm too stupid and lazy for understand everything so i'll keep the idea of just watching
when blender go to VR that would make it a lot more easy i think, like you in a room walking around and seeing the model on all angles, without a mouse
Can someone explain to me what happened between 21:48 and 21:51 that the eyes suddenly have that much more faces and vertices? It is super mesmerizing to watch, and I already learned a lot just by watching this. Not that I completely understood it, but I know more what to do.
