〔Normal Brake〕
When a stop signal is input to the driver connected to the DC brushless motor, the FETs (a type of transistor) mounted in the driver that control the current to the U, V, and W phases close simultaneously.
The energy generated during the period between the opening and closing of the FETs (i.e., regeneration) is used to stop the brushless motor at once, which is called a regenerative brake.
When the FETs for the U, V, and W phases are shut down, there is no place for the generated energy to go, so it naturally goes to the motor side.
When this generated energy flows to the U, V, and W phases of the brushless motor at the same time, it forces the rotor, which is rotating in the stator, to stop.
The force that forces the motor to stop is the stopping torque.
When the motor comes to a stop, it uses all of the generated power energy.
The higher the rotor speed inside the motor, the greater the amount of power generated until the FET closes, so the stopping torque increases in proportion to the speed.
As a result, the PULSEROLLER stops with a large stopping torque, allowing the material on the conveyor to come to a stop.
〔Continuous Torgue〕
As the position of the rotor in the brushless motor changes, the driver injects current into the motor coils to generate torque and attempt to stop the rotor.
〔Servo Brake〕
The driver is aware of the position where the PULSEROLLER has stopped and tries to hold that position. However, its use is limited, so please consult with us in advance.
