Thank you for the comments everyone. At 1:27, Matsuri says 'juu-man yen' which is 100,000 yen or $1000 US. Apologies for missing the zero for the yen figure. Thanks again to everyone who pointed it out :)

Botan was saying that even before she debuted, her YT account had 100K subscribers. That foundation of fans for Gen 5 was built by everyone who debuted before but especially the early generations, who still often have fewer subs than those in later generations.

gen0-2 really had a hard time starting hololive, they couldnt trust streaming will be enough or even a long term stuff, now you see HoloEN doing 1M just like that(in terms of time)

yep, Sora's first stream had 13 viewers. they would celebrate, 1k, 2k subs etc. now gen 5 and the EN and ID girls debut with 100k+ subs before theyve even streamed lol. the early members really deserve the respect they get from the others

The first gens are real heroes for working hard and putting Hololive on the map. If it weren't for them, we probably wouldn't have everyone we now love and adore. Now, new gen members debut with 100k-200k subscribers because of all their hard work. I hope they get to do more amazing content for a long time 🙏🏼

More info on the other jobs other Hololive members had: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rX7KGnCCYt4.html Choco-sensei had A LOT of jobs, Watame helped at her mother's friend's hotel as well as a hospital receptionist, Rushia worked at Gyuukaku, Coco manned a takoyaki stall and was a Math tutor at cram school, Matsuri also worked as an idol security/assistant, and was a waitress at The Lockup (prison-themed cafe). Fubuki helped at her local grocer. Marine's well-known experience during her stint at a Burakku Kigyou/Gaisha was also mentioned.
