Well, ollie is still newbie at this, even she tried to support astel the way she can, like using blood's "q", its important to always use that skill in the middle of clash and she did that and not panicking by not using the skill

Yeah I got a lot of comments like these but don't worry this is not the entire stream. The full stream is 1hr and 18 mins. The thing is that Astel was only present in 26mins of it, which is what I clipped and put "FULL COLLAB" in the title. Anyway, I was totally unaware of the InAccurateSubs 'scandal' until people started telling me about it yesterday so I looked up on it. Seems like that channel was using 90% of the actual total duration of the streams cutting only intro outro and silent spaces, keeping 100% of the actual content, getting hundreds of thousands of views, and doing an entire series making the same thing. This video won't get more than 10k views if it even does, it's 33% of the total stream duration of two streamers that are not popular at all (well, Astel at least) and it's an isolated clip. Anyway, if Cover wants, they can take down anything they want, and they can mess up with your channel in any way they want. They went hard on InAccurateSubs because they were literally getting people to watch their translated videos instead of the actual Coco's shtpost review streams/archives, in repeated occasions. Combining all the views the 14 or 15 (I don't remember) videos on the playlist have, Coco lost potentially millions of views. Ofc I'm not throwing hate to InAccurateSubs in any way but I'm just comparing their series with my clip.

@@holoyume Yeah I didnt know stream length etc. I just saw the "FULL COLLAB" and got ptsd flashbacks to the other channel getting shut down. Its a shame what happened to InAccurateSubs because I really enjoyed the full context of the conversations in the meme reviews. But when you put it that way I really do understand why they would have to shut it down. What I dont understand is why they dont hire people like that, that already put time and effort into translating full vods, to try and translate stuff for them full time. Potentially adding a lot more views to their vods. Even if it isnt added until a couple of days later. If I knew I could come back in 3-4 days and have everything translated I would wait to watch the vod. I know there was another channel that got striked after one video. They even tried to submit the full translated transcript to Cover but they didnt seem to want anything to do with it. No clue why since translations are a big part of why hololive got popular in the first place.

@@mrlihere Yes for what I've seen on Reddit there're actually some few occasions where they officially accept the TLs, as seen in some Matsuri streams that have full CC from the translator "Lyger" (for ex. this stream ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MjPtXDAHeOs.html ). What I noticed though is that this creates the situation of like 30% of the comments talking only about the TL instead of Matsuri or the content of the stream, which may not be what Hololive wants. I also heard that they tried to hire official translators and didn't get enough applicants because since the majority of people clipping and translating hololive are people learning the language or doing it as a hobby but not actually professional translators, which is what they would seek if they were to hire people to TL the streams, since it would be embarassing to have any mistranslation on a official stream. I've read that InAccurateSubs's translations were far from perfect hence they wouldn't have been accepted from Cover, they contacted them but never got a response, and also their community post says that they (I'm using "they", but I don't know at all if it was a team or a single translator) were tired of making hololive content, they didn't feel like doing it anymore. If they wanted they could've looked a way around it (clipping in parts, putting more edition, skipping some parts... etc) the channel is there, they got a copyright strike but Cover didn't shut it down; as seen with CMT, who got a copyright strike but kept making videos without any problem.

@@holoyume InAccurateSubs seems to be a single person. In a community post he made be pretty much said that he only "enjoyed" making the meme review videos because people seems to like it/it got a lot of views. Also because he had stopped watching a lot of vtubers so having a full vod every week was easy for him to translate. But yeah he decided to stop and started another channel where he posts non vtuber related content from what I remember. Also I can definitely see the embarrasment of having mistranslations. Thats why I mainly think it would be fine with a couple of days delay, that way they can have an "intern" or whatever translate the bulk of it and have someone more experienced do the proof-reading. I would have loved to have that for bigger collabs, or generally streams where they noticed got a lot of views. High trafic content like the meme reviews (gets a lot of view from both western and japanese audiences since Coco translates and tries to explain both sides), would be a perfect "show" to have an official translation for. Its only 1 per week, sometimes 1 every 2 weeks. So they have like 5-6 days which is plenty of time in my opinion. But Ive never translated anything semi-professionally in my life so I wouldnt know. Just speaking from my observation of all the channels doing their own translations, and my own ideas.

Astel skills are at predator level but he’s stayed diamond so that he can compete in the vtuber tournament. Now he’s striving to get masters

I wouldn’t say he’s at predator level yet, although he can put up a good fight with one. But he’s definitely Master level in spirit, Diamond 2 in reality. And that’s Diamond 2 almost entirely played Solo. With good teammates he’ll be master in no time.
