Dude, as both Kintoki and Shuten mention, Shuten's idea of "loving affection" was to attempt to lovingly murder Kintoki. Kintoki has a great respect for Raikou's crazy power, but his true nightmare is Shuten's "affection". Though he's kind of a masochist in that regard since he regretted the death of Shuten.

@@LeonGun8 That's mainly because they'd both known each other ever since he was a boy, and as much as Kintoki hates her bad habits, he still considers her a friend. And a sadistic girlfriend his step-mother doesn't approve of... As for her death, his main regret is that he had to kill her using poison and trickery, even though Shuten herself admits that she knew what was going on the whole time and just played along. It bothers Kintoki because it was so anticlimactic to have that be the way they settled things after clashing so many times; Shuten didn't get a death befitting a strong oni like herself, and Kintoki himself only won because Shuten let him.

@@Brutalyte616 Basically, Kintoki knew they would eventually end up fighting to the death but he wanted a true battle, not Raikou's schemes. Which BTW kind of makes me dodgy about Raikou's characterization in FGO. She's canonically known to have done anything to achieve her objectives, yet she's also characterized as a loving mother and honorable warrior.

To be fair, Saitama's daily routine is pointed out to not be *that* special, even in-universe, making it even more baffling that he could basically attain infinite power from it.

I honestly think Raikou is far too loved. In terms of her tales, she was less a warrior and more of an assassin. Plus her design is horrendous.

Part 2 Once in his room, the thoughts, the rage, slowly came back full force, standing up he faced the wall, his hand cocked to once again beat his bloody knuckles against an unyielding surface... Before a soft knock came at the door, "Come in." He said sighing sitting back down on his bed. The door swinging open to reveal the two he'd asked for. Shuten striding in first with a grin, "Boy, this is the first time you've chosen to invite me to your room, I must say... I'm quite curious as to why?" Her eyes sized him up, the smirk not fading, but her eyes taking in his posture and mood, suggested that this might not have been the 'fun' visit she'd been expecting. "You're hurt." She said seeing his hands, his sunken eyes, it was a face she knew well, it made her eyes grow cold. "MY CHILD! Are you alright? yY" Raikou cried out at the mention of his injuries, "I came as soon as I heard you wanted to see me, while normally I would never go anywhere with THAT Bug... I refuse to allow her to be alone with you in your room either." She looked back at the Oni who met her glare with a grin, "Oh really? I was hoping we might have some fun together... Imagine enjoying us both at the same time." She taunted licking her tongue over her fangs, "I would NEVER let you touch him in such a way! You Filthy...!" "STOP! Just... stop it... I need to speak to both of you." Fujimaru half ordered half begged, silencing the two who looked at their usually quiet, calm, and normally quite friendly Master sound so angry. "I... I met you both, again... In the last Singularity." He began, "I know it wasn't YOU.. not the YOU I know, but they were still... YOU. Who you are at your core, the soul... But you were... twisted, someone did something Terrible to you both, making you subservient to act and do under orders things... horrible things. But through it all, the moment that you didn't have a specific order about something, your true selves were still there." He said, his voice shaking, both women listening uncertainly about where this was going. "You were ordered to kidnap a young girl, and of course you did, but the MOMENT that child was in your Care Raikou.... You treated it as your own, and no harm came to her, we rescued her thanks to you despite their control... I never got the chance to thank you then, so I'm doing it now." He said bowing his head deeply. Raikou blushed and flustered, "I... well I mean, thank you." But a moment later the voice of Shuten cut in, "Always the Momma Bear, keeping the children safe aren't you, otherwise I likely would have devoured..."

Part 3 "And YOU!" He fixed Shuten with a look that silenced further statements, "I fell down a cliff face, there was no hope I'd survive, or if I did I'd have been a mangled mess at the bottom of a Gorge. But since killing ME wasn't one of your orders... You SAVED me... Saved MY life, kept me in a cave, teasing me, tormenting me... You tore open my stomach..." He said quietly. Raikou looked furious, her hand reaching for her sword, "What do you expect, I'm an Oni, so who saved you from me making you my dinner? Her again?" The two glared at each other, but Fujimaru's unexpected reply came before the two could fight. "You did, the reason you tore me open was my Magical Circuits had been out of wack the entire time, you sensed it and caused that injury to set them right again, then you patched me up, and left me for my allies to find... And it was then that I realized that despite what THEY did to you... You were still YOU. An Oni yes, you might Kill for food, you might Kill humans encroaching on your territory and lands, you might even kill for enjoyment, man, woman or even child.... But only if YOU want to. You don't butcher needlessly, you don't kill for sport or just to turn a village into a carpet of Red when someone.... fails to save them. Who YOU are, the soul of Shuten Doji, an ONI, chose to save my life when given the choice." He was looking at her imploringly, seeking something from her. Both women stood uncomfortably now, there was something about what he was saying it was unnerving, uncomfortable, there was a thankfulness to his words, but hidden in them was a pain, a loathing that constantly bubbled to the surface, and worse, it was NOT directed at either of them, for what he might have seen them do... It was inward. "That's why I called you here. I needed to thank you both for being who you are, even in the face of being controlled and manipulated.... And Raikou, I'd like it if you left us alone for a moment." The larger woman turned wild eyes on Shuten, then him about to protest, but his expression left no opportunity for her to do so. "I... yes." Stepping outside the door wooshed shut behind her.

Part 4 Shuten crossed the room, "So... All alone... What do you want from me." She grinned, but it didn't reach her cold eyes.... "The other you saved my life, for being WHO she was.... YOU have chosen to follow and serve me, being WHO you are... I... I never knew what I could do to thank you, I never understood Oni motivations to know how to show my appreciation... But now... I think I have an idea... My life... you saved it...." Cold, weary eyes looked up into hers, "So it's yours, do what you will with it." He said preparing himself for whatever fate giving his life to her would result in... What came next he never expected. A FURIOUS Shuten grabbed him by the collar and SLAMMED him to the wall! "You think this! THIS! Would make me happy?! A broken young man lamenting his failures? I saw that same pathetic look on your face when Mash died at Goetia's throne! Who did you fail this time? Who sacrificed themselves for you to ensure that you could finish your Mission? Do you believe that THIS is what they would want?" Her face was more monstrous than he'd ever witnessed, her fangs bared, her Oni Strength on full display, he felt a primal fear, but did not resist, he felt like a child being taught a lesson rather than a prey faced with a predator. "Before you do something THIS foolish, remember what THEY fought for! Everyone, not just the two you lost! EVERYONE has fought for YOU who now lives here happily! Then you BEST live up to the expectations they have of you! That WE ALL HAVE! You don't honor their sacrifices by giving up, by dying. You do so by fighting for every inch, every step forward to make the life you lived as a result worth their sacrifices!" She hissed and dropped him to the floor, "When you've done THAT, when you've built your life into a Fine young man, one who never gives up and makes every effort to live his life to the fullest..... THEN call on me again, and I'll enjoy devouring everything you are... your pains, your pleasures, down to your very being, THAT would be a meal worth savoring... Not this broken fatalistic child." She turned her back and headed towards the door, "You gave me your life? Then LIVE it, do that and I'll accept your offer when it's worth it..." She stepped outside Raikou waiting leaning against the wall, leaving a stunned Fujimaru to contemplate her words. "If you'd harmed him, I'd have taken your head.... But thank you.... Huh, didn't know Oni could cry." She said looking down at her, "Was telling him that so terrible?" Shuten bit back her tears, "I think I finally understand how you all Love him so much... I've always liked him yes, like keeping a pet.... But... He sees me. When all of my Life Human's only ever saw a Monster, the Oni Shuten Doji.... He values ME, not despite me being an Oni, nor because I'm an Oni.... But because I'm.... Me." She wiped her tears away briefly, as Raikou replied, "He's a special one, I've always seen it. But these.... Trials would be monumental for anyone to surmount. Now and again they could become too much for even his resolve... So if that happens and he reaches for us, we must answer." She said, in their love for their Master the two mortal enemies had a moment of Peace... But only a Moment! "Well, you'd best step up your patrols around his room then, cause after this I might just find an excuse or two to come by for a 'taste' of his developments from here, such a shame that on my first visit I didn't get to join him on that bed of his." She laughed while dodging a sword strike that flew through the air where her neck had just been, "You keep your dirty hands, tongue and whatever else off of him you damn BUG!!" Raikou shouted chasing the spritely Oni down the halls, other Servants clearing a path, "Oh come now, no sense in keeping him all to yourself, keep that nose of yours keen and I'm sure you'll be smelling my scent on him soon enough.... At least his lower half at least. Hahahaha!" Sitting alone in his room Fujimaru looked at the door, the noise fading.... Then to his hands.... "This isn't the place for me to give up, I'm not allowed to yet. Make it worth it..... I've got to protect more than just Humanity.... I've got to protect the smiles of those I care about too...." Standing up he headed for the infirmary....

Might wanna specify what exactly you're confused about.

Short Version- Kintoki's a Shonen over-the-top battle nut who's fightosexual over Shuten Doji but is way too proud/has too much shonen protag honor to admit to himself he likes a man eating evil demon.. Shuten knows this, derives great joy from teasing the ever loving hell out of him, and doesn't like talking about herself but (imo) it's pretty clear she wants him back but is far too proud to let him know that. Hence, their relationship- Shuten fucking with Kintoki trying to get him to falter, Kintoki trying to be the most GOLDEN man. I'm simplifying it quite a bit but this basically covers it
