Themis is probably one of the most long running Final Fantasy villains in terms of plot retention, in the series, and has excellent character development, and ends his journey completely content and at ease with how things turned out.
It's pretty awesome how when we fight Themis in shb, he has weakened over the years at level 80 and at an extreme level fight at that. But we are level 90 and are fighting an ancient ancestor in his prime and more with unlimited aether at savage level and really shows how strong the convocation really are once they were ready to battle
Also note that SoS has him having to summon other heroes throughout time, for his biggest and best attacks. Meanwhile this fight and its Savage especially has him using clones of himself instead.
Really makes you think. With Emet-Selch, we needed to go through an ungodly amount to be able to beat him, and it's questionable if he was really going all out on us in the end. Imagine properly facing the man with the highest affinity for magic in his prime. We wouldn't hold a candle to him.
I love how you managed to capture the intensity of the song as well as the beauty within it. The fight is not a joy, but trying to save a friend, and this shows it.
I genuinely sort of like this version better than the original... hard to really say why. The longer held piano notes in the main melody of neath dark waters before the rockish part. It just.. feels more elegant of an intro for Elidibus true form. Instead of the staccato notes.
