We are Pottery of Cloisonne enamel in japan since 1883.
Named "TAMURA SHIPPO CLOISONE ENAMEL"
In japan, this Traditional craft call "Owari Shippo".
Owari Shippo, also known as Shippo-Yaki,
is a traditional craft that originated in Shippo-cho in Aichi Prefecture.
The technique combines metalwork and glasswork in an ornamental craft techniquerecalling cloisonné enamelling. Crystal glass is baked onto metal, which is then painted with decorative designs using gold and silver.
This is a process-intensive, time-intensive craft, renowned
for its vivid colours and the delicacy of its decoration; the finished pieces are often described as resembling “pictures painted with jewels” or as “beautifully arranged jewels”.
Video shooting date is 2018

The skill and artistry that goes into cloisonné is extraordinary and people have no idea. I have been collecting cloisonné for 30 years and had found Chinese pieces originally but one day I discovered a small old vase that was unlike the others and I discovered it was an old Japanese piece. Since I learned about Japanese enamel I have been searching all over for old pieces and only want them and have a beautiful collection now of these treasures and think of the people who made them all of the time. It’s like I have a piece of their lives in my home because I know how much time went into each exquisite piece. I think that I’m just borrowing or preserving them for a future generation and they might be in a museum some day . I don’t care if they are damaged either as I love them just as much. I have a huge 4 foot tall black Japanese vase with purple irises on it that I found at an outdoor antique show but it was missing the bottom and had a large area of damage on one side and a dent. The man was going to sell it for the scrap copper. He sold it to me for 15 or 20 dollars and know it was worth so much more and I feel like I saved a huge treasure from someone who would have destroyed it. I wish I could get it fixed but I don’t who I could ever find to do that and instead just turn the damaged side to the wall and enjoy it just like that.! Thank you for continuing this art for future generations. I definitely enjoy it like the girl had hoped people would and I imagine the makers would have hoped too.

I would buy a linked shippo that fit the collar of the neck. Partnering up with a professional jeweler would be beneficial. Accessories are nice but more intricate ornate pieces would catch the eyes of more people especially in the age of social media and beauty.

The real problem with this kind of craft is technology. I was probably the last handmade marquetry makers in the UK when laser cutters arrived about 30 years ago. I used to make about 2000 panels a year, suddenly all gone. I now make the smallest miniature marquetry furniture in the world which laser cutters can't do, and I have collectors all over the world.. The point is you have to adapt your skills for a market or you starve.. If I was you I'd look at small boxes and credit card cases, small things which most people can afford , use that to finance the really fancy work you want to do..

@@godaimeyuuki I just had this thought, although it probably has occurred to you already: Facebook and other social media. I was born long, long before the computer revolution changed our world's society, for good as well as bad. But one thing that does not change, from the days, long ago, when Murasaki Shikibu and Sei Shonagon first picked up their brushes to record their thoughts, when Keno wrote "Essays in Idleness" and Chomei first moved to his 10ft square hut, we all need and deserve to be recognized for being ourselves, for our talents and strengths. To have the feeling, when we call out "Hello!" into that vast chasm called life, that a voice will respond, "Hello to you!" The encouragement and recognition from others, someone who can sincerely say, "You are YOU.", it may not be an absolute necessity in life, like food, water, shelter, etc., but to have a purpose for living to matters to you is still vital, and to have others recognize our purpose and encourage it is very important.

I bet it would be pretty easy to crowd fund money to live for. With the whole world as the market and something like this, I bet art galleries and art lovers would be happy to sponsor her - and the art/crafrmanships survival with a small amount once in a while. I suggest looking up the best art galleries in different countries, and offering to exhibit there. We don't see anything like this in Denmark (as far as I know) and I bet it's the same most other places. Jewellery is small and therefor afordable for "beginning collectors", and the delicate japanese style seems to fit the discrete nordic design traditions.

If you do not want this craft to die, make different things with the same techniques. Make pop culture references. You can get many people to work for you making these items. People would love to buy Cloisonne style pop art, of popular characters and scenes from film, try doing the Cloisonne on an aluminum plate, make pictures, instead of pottery. Also you can make some pottery with modern sugoi pop references. You also need to change the title from "Claft" to "craft".

I have worked with several American craftsman. Some have built amazing furniture. The one Builder sold his last dresser for 50K. These men just do not make videos. And I must say while they use traditional woodworking methods their work looks better that the men you feature in the video. The other gentleman makes chairs and dining room tables. His work is second to no one. Looks like Japan has to up their game, lol. The old methods are nice to watch, the new is on a different level of skill. I know this will make some angry, but the guys I spoke of just do a better-quality work.
