On my way back from a visit to Shikoku, I bought lemons on Omishima Island, which is known as the strongest spiritual place in Shikoku. They are pesticide-free lemons, which look lumpy and are one size bigger than normal lemons. I made lemon syrup to make a lovely lemon squash, perfect for summer.
The only ingredients for lemon syrup are lemons and rock sugar. Lemons are available everywhere all year round, so it's easy to make.
Incidentally, lemon syrup mixed with water is lemonade, and lemon squash with soda water (which I didn't know).
Ume vinegar drinks are said to have a great effect on relieving fatigue due to the power of citric acid. It also has the effect of removing waste from the body, so it is said to reduce the build-up of fatigue. Let's get through this hot summer as comfortably and deliciously as possible!
