Honestly, this kind of martial arts defenses are very practical and applicable to all ages. You dont need to do high kicks to defeat your attackers. If I may have chance dreaming that I may learn from this master. Love that kind of technique, no bullshit technique but straight forward and a very precise martial arts.
Northern 7 Star Praying Mantis Kung fu form "Basic 14" or "14 Roads". This kick is called the "Shin Kick", and is the 3rd move in the form. Master Miyahira Tamotsu knows the "secret" to making this kick so effective. He explains it clearly, and demonstrates it explosively! Thank you Master Miyahira Tamotsu for sharing your knowledge of this technique. And thanks to the channel "kuro-obi world" for posting another fantastic video!
I’ve used this in the cage. It’s an effective kick. It’s really good at someone’s knee and ankle. In a cage somebody might fall for twice possibly four times. On the street a untrained person will get destroyed the first time you use it. It’s a good technique.
Is good to know that some of these chinese martial art techniques are been used effectively in MMA fighting. Unfortunately no credit is given to chinese martial art, instead most people claim that chinese martial art doesn't work!
Thank you Kuro-Obi world. Sifu Miyahira is my favorite guest on your show. His instruction is always honest, complete and practical. I continue to learn a great deal from your videos, and encourage my own students to do so. There are many teachers in the world, but alas I can only make time for a few of them. Sifu Miyahira Tamotsu is one of those few. Laoshr #60 Ching Yi Kung Fu Association EU
I have been training WT for 7 years and You, Sirs, inspire me to continue this style always whenever i have watched Your lesson. This kick is extraordinary and simple ( i hope:). With our Sihing we use similar kick, but we pick up leg a little bit. I know more now.:) Respect and thank You for Your knowledge. With regards, guy from Poland:)
WT = Wing Tsun? I'm learning Taiji and we have similar kick in the form.. I've always thought it was a "kick", but after Miyahira Tamotsu sensei's explanation I believe the "scraping the ground" is more logical and applicable. no wonder most, if not all, of the old Taiji masters I've seen in videos uses "scraping the ground" instead of "kicking". I've always thought they were just lazy or it was because of old age..
@@dapidminiAiki WT - You right - Wing Tsun. This grabing the ground seems more safe too. All high kicks are risky a bit. Thanks for these interesting words,David:)
I used this technique in kumite way back in the 70s .Considering I was in bare feet it used to hurt the other guy bad.I used to follow up with a fast reverse punch while the guy was stunned.Obviously with shoes on its going to hurt like hell .
