Love your video! We are visiting Kyoto this September. Looking forward to try these suggestions! By the way, can you please recommend a nice restaurant to have a birthday/special dinner for a big group of people (11 adults and 2 kids)? Thank you! ❤
Thank you for the comment. My recommendation is Cicon Rooftop Bar by Nohga Hotel. It’s a little difficult to make reservations and accept for big group, but the mood and food are good! www.mothersgroup.jp/shop/cicon_rooftopbar.html
Thank you for the comment. I think Nishiki market is relatively fair price. And Tsukiji market is … very high price. I’m a little surprised at the price at Tsukiji market…
Thank you for sharing your favorite spots and being a wonderful host. This is definitely the welcoming vibe that I was looking for. Too many times, it has seemed like Kyoto locals do not want tourists to visit, and I understand that because it’s difficult to live anywhere that’s over crowded by the people who are not considerate and don’t know local customs. But it just sucks and really hurt my feelings.
Let me just clarify that it hurts my feelings because I have been putting so much effort into learning Japanese/Kyoto customs and traditions to be a responsible, considerate traveler. And it really sucked so much that they just lumped me in with everyone else. I know I won’t be “perfect” but I’m really trying to remember and follow every rule that I came to know about.
