Fun fact: there is a peanut snack in Japan that is known as “Mexican inspired peanuts” but in Mexico, they’re known as “Japanese inspired peanuts” this is because a Japanese immigrant who lived in Mexico (Yoshigei Nakatani) and who also was married to a Mexican, invented it!
I used to have a Japanese friend that used to love Mexican food. He didn’t wanted to eat in fancy restaurants, he wanted to go to the stands to eat tacos, burritos, tortas, flautas, gorditas, and more of that Mexican street food. He still misses it.
I know that Latin culture has been popular in Japan for many decades. For example, in the 1990s there was an all Japanese salsa band called Orquesta de la Luz. They were very popular in Latin America and the U.S. They’ve won many awards and recognitions. The lead singer Nora and the other members sung in Spanish even though they didn’t know Spanish in real life! The group was inspired in part by another Japanese salsa band called Orquesta del Sol. Look up Orquesta de la Luz. There many other bands in Japan that play Latin music like Mariachi Samurai, Minyo Crusaders, Chica Boom, etc.
I’m Hispanic (Puerto Rican and Ecuador) and I met this Japanese girl on my way to Baltimore. I was late for the Shuttle Bus that was supposed to take me to the Amtrak Train and it turned out she was late too. We both bumped into each other and we both ran to the bus… ever since then we shared a seat. I made her laugh so much that she hugged my arm and told me how funny I was. She was pretty cute silly and cute. We share things about ourselves. She was in the U.S to finish her studies. I was going to Baltimore to meet a girl. (It wasn’t serious) we both started to feel very comfortable. She was really comfortable in fact that she wanted to lay her head on my shoulder as it got dark. I made sure to be respectful and not do anything to overstep my boundaries of course… Hours went by and we arrived at the Amtrak station. I thought we were going to sit in separate seats but she insisted on sitting with me. I was in fact delighted to have her. It felt like we both knew each other somehow. We had our own spot away from other people. Just the two of us. I made her laugh some more. We talked about movies, anime, her studies and plans in our careers. An hour passed. She was closing her eyes. I made sure there was a pillow on my shoulder for her to lay on. But she removed the pillow. She pulled me closer. My heart skipped a beat. Her eyes gazing into mine. No words were uttered. It was silent. I felt like she wanted me to make the first move. I did. I leaned slowly as I held up her chin. Her breathing was relaxed and calm. I leaned in for a kiss as she held me tighter. Our lips connected. It was an emotional bliss…. We shared a connection through the whole trip. It was a time of pleasure and heat…. A day passed and we were ready to make are departure. We both went together to breakfast. I bought her meal even though she detested and insisted on paying. Man she is a keeper. A few hour later we arrived at our destination. We grabbed our luggage as we both stepped out of the train. People walked by to get where they were going. But me and her her stood in the middle as we both said our goodbyes. “I guess I’m headed this way” I said… She looked at me and smiled. “And I’m taking the Next train to New York” she said… and at that moment, we both leaned in for a hug. There was no kiss goodbye. No heartfelt emotions to cling to. We both hugged and told each other to be careful and good luck. There was no contact info exchanged. Our time together was brief but it was the best time I’ve had that year. We both turned around and left. She was an amazing buddy. I never expected to share a connection with me like that. And I think I made a good impression on her. It was a brief moment, but it was also a fantastic moment. It was a moment of fun and adventure. I almost forgot where I was going with this. Foreign people are people like you and me. Don’t judge someone by there differences in culture or ethnicity. Be kind to them the best you can. You might just make a friend.
@@overpricedhealthcare it was the thrill of the moment. But we both knew somehow that e we were both just not a match. She was looking for a thrill. I was too. Our common interest was minimum so we decided to have fun with it while it lasted. Plus her family is traditional. I don’t think they want me as a friend to her. Either way! It as brief thrill but the best thrill I’ve had that year.
Great video! Their Spanish is very good. I just wanted to say that the difference between Latin and Hispanic is that Latin people and countries are from Latinamerica (Central and South America) meanwhile Hispanic people and countries speak Spanish. Mexico for example is both Latin and Hispanic because it is a part of latinoamerica and it’s official language is Spanish. Countries like Brazil are Latin but not Hispanic because it is located in Latinamerica but it’s official language is Portugues not Spanish. Countries like Spain are the opposite because they speak Spanish which makes them Hispanic but are not in Latinamerica which I means they are not Latin. Hope this helps and sorry if I wrote a lot.
Fun fact: you can be any race and still be Hispanic/Latino. For example, in Peru, there's a good amount of people with Japanese ancestry. They even had a president with Japanese origins. You can also be black like big papi or the old Sammy Sosa lol. And even white like Christina Aguilera. And native like George Lopez.
I swear to God the relationship between Japan and all of latin america is a bond between the entertainment that was imported there and some other cultural stuff
I went to Japan right before COVID I was 21 so I would go on the guided tours where you go to bars and girls would talk and stare and like giggle I guess and I thought I was doing something wrong and my buddies tells me they’re talking ab how you’re the first Latino 🇸🇻 they’ve seen in person and that I was quite handsome and I’m by far not a model decent at best lol so I’ve never been flattered before ab my looks haha thought it was cute! Wish I could talk to them!
I went to Japan and I certainly didn't get much giggles, just stares and avoidance on the trains (although they do that with foreigners in general). I'm short and dark-skinned, and they like tall white guys and light skin.
I went to a texmex themed bar in Tokyo, and I don't know if it's still there, and there were some girls giggling and looking. Walking around sightseeing, I did get some weird looks.
Is there a country you guys (mexicans) didn’t settle in? I don’t mean to be rude, but every time I see a video where a Puerto Rican ( I’m Puerto Rican) is seen or mentioned I see a whole bunch of mexicans invading that space. I though they were gonna say if Japanese girls know any Puerto Rican guys or celebrities. I saw the picture of Ricky Martin and I thought that maybe Japanese girls were gonna say if they knew him. Instead I got bombarded with mexico, hope it’s for the better, anyway, would still be interested if they knew know anything about us, hopefully they do.
From what I read there's Two difference Latin ppl are full Spaniards also anywhere like Spain, South America etc and Hispanic ppl are more mixed with Native American and Spaniards within America continent (i.e. USA Mexico South America Caribbean). Something like that.
I think for some Japanese women, Latin men can be overwhelming. We are very affectionate and informal, if you are not ready for someone like that it can be difficult.
In the next couple years Latin Hispanic population will grow to exceed that of the white population I hope we get more exposure and representation in other countries
I'm Mexican American. I love 90s Japanese cars . I own an R33 GTR that I purchased from tokorozawa Japan 😂. Also, city pop ❤ the only thing I'm missing is a kawaii girlfriend
As myself a Hispanic American who does NOT follow the culture nor speak Spanish a lot Am more of a guy who follows the Frankish culture and loves Jpop and animation
I had an encounter with a a Japanese woman where she stare at me as if I was the most beautiful person she has ever seen. I thought the same about her she was with her Otosa at the moment I didn’t want to interrupt. I was with my gf. But she stare at me for the longest time and so did it. It was as we both encounter the unknown for the first time.
Las niñas son tan tiernas.. bueno aunque los tacos de México son tan populares, realmente existe muchos tipos de comida en LA, ademas de demasiados tipos de bailes.
My mom told me that japanese people don't like Hispanics. She keeps telling me this so I dunno who to believe here because I've been planning to move to japan and learn some things there but I guess I won't be following that dream lmao
Your mom is dead wrong. Two friends of mine are Japanese (they immigrated to the US 12 years ago) and they swear to me that I’d be super popular in Japan because I’m Mexican. Throw in that mexican “everyone is family” vibe and you’re in.

@@elmachodeyewtewb I agree. There’s even a “cholo” style trend in certain parts of Japan where they dress L.A. Chicano style. They even have low riders. I love how they resonate with our culture. ✊🏽 Órale!
They do date Hispanics Not that much but they do. You must bring your best. I had a date with a Japanese girl two weeks ago and she made me meet her in church where I had to meet 3 of her friends and got interrogated. So there's a chance just be ready. Career wise and religion value
The other guy is right. It's very rare and you'll be spending a lot of time finding someone as Asians in general want white guys. If you "look white", you'll be ok but I'm short and dark-skinned so I wouldn't get a date unless I spent a ton of time, effort, and money.
@@JohnDoe-pt7ru Asian girls are smart. But let's be real, Asians aren't really good looking. Best looking women are Caucasian, blacks, and Hispanics. Caucasian white euro like Russia women, Italian Irish, Germans and viking girls. Hot ass fuck. Peanut butter black girls like Chris brown, and latinas like jlo, thalia, or Shakira.
