Former Christchurch Transport Board (CTB) 1986 M.A.N SL 202 re painted in original colour scheme! Now in service with Otago Heritage Bus Society Incorporated operating cruise ship shuttle services for passengers in Dunedin Railways Taieri Gorge excursion.

Hi Nick, really enjoy and appreciate your videos. This bus & the M.A.N Bendy bus gives me fond memories of my father who use to drive them up here in Auckland for the Yellow Bus Company (ARA) back in the 80's/90's. I can always remember the sound of these buses, so Great to hear again. Thank you Nick!!

Randwick Depot in Sydney had 20 with this gearbox from 1989 that sounded almost identical to this. Willoughby and North Sydney depots had 23 and 7 respectively with 3 speed Voiths and a slightly higher speed axle ratio. I drove the Voith units. Adored them.

Nick question does this sound actually the same as the other MAN buses such as bus number 2025 ??? And buses like the SL243 do they all sound the same?

Hi Neill the SL 202’s all sound the same , the bendy bus front end is the same as a 202, but it’s a mid mounted engine, with more hp
