So many things I love about this 1: main character doesnt start off as invincible and actually freaks out when she starts losing control. Making her upgrade to badass later feel even more awesome. 2: even though the other good guys are basically faceless, their deaths felt impactful. 3: VIP guy isnt just an asshole, and actually tried to save one of the guys. So much awesomeness in this video!
What i love about this is not only the sheer determination and teamwork of both protagonists and enemy that created this whole battle, but the politician VIP being a human being and having empathy, deciding to stay and help his protectors
E também pelo realismo da batalha! Mesmo sendo uma animação, o animador se preocupou com as táticas de guerra, comunicação, entre os aliados. Simplesmente, incrível 😎👍
nah bruh, this guy literally appeared out of nowhere and dropped an animated masterpiece. I can't describe how good this story was... I hope we will get more of this because I am now addicted to it!
I like how the soldiers are not just treated as unimportant NPCs, but team-mates who do what they are told and communicate. Even though without a single word being spoken every life lost felt impactful as I came to like the soldiers very fast. And the VIP at the end who came back, despite knowing he was the oe in the most danger was a good touch, it showed he was a person worth protecting in the first place.
I felt so attached I made up named for them like the shotgun guy I called him breacher and I always thought it was cool how he held his head when he was stressed so much character development from dudes who say NOTHING
@@wiki2075 he should've been fine because 9mm will not always pen body armor and I was Soo angry that I went ballistic and started rambling and some people got angy
@@MICROTECH_CH I get what you mean. I felt his death was simply for the shock effect this animator was good at making us get attached. (I also started screaming my ass off when I heard sirens at the end I thought it was so bullshit. NOW THERES COPS)
@@wiki2075 i mean the attacking group couldve paid off the cops to not respond until they were done with their operation. its not unheard for that to happen in the world of security contractors. Cops are one of the most unreliable entities of protection when it comes to protecting VIPs.
As an MMD animator myself, this is beyond impressive! I have to give absolute respect to the time and dedication it took to make this. MMD is not an easy software to use and believe me when i say stuff like this are built ground up frame by frame, every single bone movement altered frame after frame is mind blowing. I sometimes struggle with just sitting and talking animations, imagine this. I tried making an MMD fight motion and it was extremely difficult. But I managed to pull it off but this is an entire different level of dedication and animation skills! Well done
24:22 I absolutely adore this moment when she pulls out the knife and looks frantically with determination to kill the two guys with sheer force of will.
Part of me already felt like EBR guy was gonna die somehow, but even without a single line of dialog you were still able to make his death feel so impactful. I'm incredibly glad this popped up in my recommend, truly amazing work. Fly high EBR guy and the rest of the team, y'all were real ones. o7
Drops out of nowhere, uses MMD, makes us care about faceless soldiers, and is actually a better action film than most of the movies these days, well done
The fact that enemies don't die easily from the main character's attacks and slowly pressure them to death, is really terrifying but also really cool at the same time.
Yeah, having both functional body armor and the freaky unkillableness of adrenalined out near dead people really makes this stand out and really makes every battle that much more brutal
The micro expression all of them did really convey the emotion and personality. The little nod, the eyes glancing, pupil dilated, little shivers on the body, a little bit of pause before making decision, the anger, sadness, shock and adrenalime made me invested in these character. Also every dead ally qctually have some emotional impact coz they did bring something. They did contributing to the fight and not just a character that died 3 second they entered the screen. Thats ehy its heartbreaking when they died
@@redtarget5275 because honestly thats the way it should be the weapon You get it's the one You are Best with they can't give you just any weapon when You are doing a special mission of taking care of a Big shot person(important person) You need the Best equipment
What I like about this is that one: the MC isn’t super overpowered, but strong and tough, two: even if she doesn’t talk, you can sense the emotion as she watched her teammates die, showing she carried about them as if they were family
idk bruh. dont get me wrong, this was good, but it sounds like you're watchin some crud-ass movies. This really did a great job at times of telling a story with action though, and I will agree that there are a number of directors in hollywood who can do that to save their life.
The opening ambush sequence reminds me of a movie I've seen, I thought it was Clear And Present Danger with Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan but that's a fair bit different so I might be thinking of something else that I can't remember.
Give this a few years, and it'll ferment well like Path of Hate or Crimson Alpine. The most brilliant aspect about this masterpiece in my opinion, is the attention to hand signals and non-verbal responses while voice-overs remain in absentia. Magnificently haunting, especially when Mk.14 Operator hugged the ground. One can really feel the weight brushing over when the ringing stops.
even with no dialogue i still understood every single moment and to be honest i didnt have a big expectation going into this, thought it was just gonna be some random mid short film, but damn did it blew me away, after the first 3 minutes i stopped caring about the graphics and really got into the whole thing, the gunplay, the tactics, the movements, everything was top notch and holy shit that final sequence was awesome. great work animating this and creating this story absolutely well done!
This has got to be one of the most gripping and well-made animations I have ever seen. From the first shot fired to the lighting of the cigar at the end, everything was absolutely superb. The gunfights, the tactics, the reloads, handling and just about every aspect of the animation has had an incredible amount of work put into it, and the attention to detail is staggering. Not to mention the framing of each shot, every minor and major cut and jump, and especially that one tracking scene on the fallen soldier, the camerawork itself seems to beat out many blockbuster movies and animations from the last decade. Lastly, the storytelling and flow, despite there not being a single word spoken in the entire 30 minutes, each characters intentions and thoughts were telegraphed and dictated amazingly through their expressions, actions and for the masked soldiers, just their eyes and hands. I don’t think I can fully grasp the work and effort put into this animation, but I do hope to at least convey my genuine joy and appreciation for this incredible piece of art. Thank you for this wonderful animation, and I look forward to supporting your next works. edit: i looked around your youtube and twitter and couldn’t find a way to support you through paypal or patreon, is there any possibility of there one being made or should i just keep spam sharing this to my friends hahaha
@@fracapolligummala3548 abso-fuckin-lutely, man. I personally heard it in the voice of the Delta guy right at the beginning of the first mission of MW3, before Frost opens his eyes in the rolled Humvee. that's the one I heard.
The animation may be stiff The models may be mismatched The lighting may be flat The dialogue may be nonexistent The blood textures may be stretched to 5x their size But this has visual direction, authentic tactics, and action pacing like no movie out there
@@springs6677 they're not hating. They said despite the imperfections of the animation, it has better story than most movies out there, it has better representation of what trained professionals actually do during a shooting, and much more.
This is probably one of the most intense firefight media I've ever witnessed. There's so much to say about this but I can't begin to put it into words. You really made every fight seem so tense, and despite not a single word being said you were able to convey so much emotion with your characters. Every and any action movie director/creator would benefit from taking a page out of your book and taking the time to really map out what a believable, tense, tactical, and entertaining gun fight should look like
i decided to watch this out of boredom, "why not looks interesting" holy sh*t was i glad i found this, the style, the story the way it was all filmed was amazing, the attention to detail and the tactics was all perfect, the music choice fit perfectly and this guy popped up outta nowhere, zen please dont change what you do we need more animators like you (random fact, my airsoft gear is damn near 1 to 1 with the AK operator, backwards cap, face covering, even the headphones and goggles so it hit me even harder when he eventually died)
I honestly wanted to cry when the sniper dude died, as well as everyone else. Every death felt impactful even though we didn’t see their faces or even hear their names. This deserves to be a full on movie and deserves to win some awards.
No idea how this ended up in my recommended vids, but holy Hell. This was an example of excellence in animation considering the medium used as a canvas for this work of art. I would LOVE to know if there is more coming. You, sir or madame, just got yourself a new subscriber.
This now the best MMD to ever exist. I’m not joking Zen, you should be incredibly proud of yourself. The animation of the MC’s face were perfect down to the most minute detail, if I went into how much I love this we’d be here till next Christmas. Good Bloody Job!
The attention to detail in the gun stances is impressive as well. The way they change their gun stance based on objective, whether or not teammates are in the way or based on distance of targets is so cool.
It's physically impossible to take less than 6 months with something like this, animations in general take a very, very long time to make despite only being 15 or so minutes long.
one of the best community animations ever put on RU-vid since it's debut in 2005, this almost trifocals that Halo animation that one guy made with masterchief, easily, phenomenal work man, good lord.
It’s a great combination of nonverbal story telling, realistic military tactics and movements. The CQB was on point, the press checking, points of contact when shooting from different positions, team comes and hand signals as well as small unit tactics are pretty great. It’s more engaging and realistic than the action movies today. My buddies who served approve of this and actually liked this very much.
Those gun operating、movements、tactics, it just feel so real and well made. Even though there's no any dialogues, but you still can feel those character's personality. Combine with the camera angles、intense tempo, it just become a masterpiece, even batter than most gun fight movies in Hollywood. As a former pmc in Philippines, you sir, I salute you and your artwork. Btw, man you can't imagine how sad I am when I see the Benelli m3 guy go down and the EBR guy sesacrifice himself to save his teammate😭
But the fact we can tell it was an M3, the fact Zen even KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE, and not an M4? Priceless. It really was all about the friends we lost along the way.
No voice or audible dialogue whatsoever, yet we can somehow completely understand and feel what they're saying. That is absolutely a sign of magnificent animation and depth in a video! This video is an pure masterpiece of animation, one we must appreciate to the fullest!
I didn't expect to go from "HELL YEAH, GO GET EM" to "Fuck... the feels" in a matter of minutes. This animation is amazing. The choreography and storytelling is amazing. The emotional scenes is amazing. Everything is amazing (sound design can use a little work) but overall, amazing. I can't wait to see you grow and thrive as an animator.
For real, I thought it's gonna be like every other movie where the main character just suddenly becomes a one man army in just a matter of minutes, but goddamn those enemies don't got that storm trooper aim and are not fucking around
I love how the emotion in the main protagonists expression upon seeing her comrades die really shows us that these were not just her squad mates but her friends, and they've likely all gone through hell and back together, seeing her horrified expression from losing those comrades really puts in this emotional feeling.
Despite the story telling and characters being excellent, there is an incredible amount of accuracy in military doctrine and drills in this video. Both sides were using different and relevant firing positions as well as the MC making great work of firing and moving tactics. There is absolutely no way that one of the creators of this video does not have a background in the military even yet special operations. This choreography is so textbook well, that I will share this with my unit!
The creator has been an animator for a long time, although I don't know him very well. From what we saw in this short film, I guess that he did a lot of research to take care of the details in the combat sequences, omitting the fact that the commander received an AR shot in the helmet that definitely must have been pierced and not just bounce, let alone the .338 shot. I'll assume that both shots just grazed the helmet, in any case it's something you see in all the movies and video games these days, so it doesn't matter.
I also love how most of the shots fired are misses. It's accurate to real life where the purpose of most fire is not to kill, but rather to suppress the enemy in order to gain a tactical advantage which can be used to make various manuevers, like when they suppressed hostiles to give room to pop a smoke so as to conceal their movement, allowing escape from a situation where they were clearly pinned down and about to be overrun by superior firepower. Also love the one scene where despite getting hit in her armor, she still feels hurt because even if it doesn't penetrate, the force is still enough to break bone through the armor even through pure concussive force. Also, that scene with how she exploited the sniper's autoloader's weakness by causing a stovepipe by obstructing the slide?! Chefs fucking kiss, that was amazing.
It's a great animation and I love the *individual* tactics. I don't know why the protagonist team is so... just fucking weird in their movements and squad decisions whereas the enemy makes more sense. Shawty is definitely getting fired for her field battle decisions, but that's fine. I don't think it takes away from the film at all.
According to an interview with the creator of "V.I.P." himself, he had no special forces or other training, but was self-taught and created this great work solely out of a desire to make more interesting action videos. I suspected that he was lying XD
So this guy just casually dropped a masterpiece of animation art. Even without dialogue the emotions are made clear and you feel every character death. Very well done and keep up the great work.
Even the military hand codes. For example, when she pointed out the sniper with the hand gestures. Those are commenly used but not often seen in movies or animations. I'm so fanboying rn.
I was not ready to be bamboozled like this. This was some great storytelling, and animation. The subtle details in the way they handled their weapons and how the propped themselves against ledges, everything was beautiful. All this needs is equally good voice acting, sound effects and better graphics, it'd be it's own movie full fledged movie. Even so, there's a charm to it that it is the way it is.
I was bobbing and weaving in my chair watching this! Never thought watching something could give me adrenaline quite like this. The realism in EVERYTHING the characters did made it beyond amazing. 10/10
man i have never seen anything like this in my life and this is the first video on this channel. so there's a lot to come. right? and this is very realistic because the anger the hatred made her unstoppable and determined to kill the guy who killed her teammates. and I hope he and his friends make more videos.
@@R360X From what I can tell they came from nico (which you can find on their twitter.) Only a handful of vids over there and none quite as serious as this but hey, more from the same person right?
Former PMC here. Pretty damn good, especially weapon handling. Enemies were competent and well trained, as were the defending team. It also shows the relationship the character had with the men she commanded. Willing to sacrifice their life for her. Good men.
Okay as someone in the ARMY, the gunplay, the formations from even to the function check of the M4 Carbine was amazing! Absolutely in love! As you can tell, all the other comments have expressed how much went into the detail and I commend you for it! Can't wait to see more!
@@BOMERdeath123 Nope active duty, 11B JBLM, we go in and destroy the enemy! Sorry made you think that I was. If you need help understanding an 11B is a combat unit, an infantryman, went to FT. Benning for training and graduated with my peers. So I'm happy to be of service!
@@Sathornetfire likely a 16 inch barreled AR15. It's still very useable in a location like the parking garage the final battle took place. A longer barrel also provides better muzzle velocity, which can help with penetrating armor, which OpFor was using. An m16 with M193 5.56x45 which has 55gr of gunpowder, compared to 62gr found in M855/green tip, can absolutely vibe check level 4 armor due to muzzle velocity. Speed is what helps with the penetration of armor, not size of the round itself.
soldiers being competent replacing the govt's competence i dunno about how response times work or it could even be just that, the govt being incompetent but i dont see how does this gun fight not alert any of the other authorities, especially since I don't think snipers are exactly subtle
RU-vid randomly recommended me this, tapped on it and enjoyed every minute of it. A routine VIP escort gone bad leading to a final standoff with a determined suited and booted character. The gun battles were great along with the moments of squad tactics in between. Even with no actual vocal dialogue it told a solid story through the intensity and progression alone. Can’t wait for what’s next.
Not gonna lie this is top tier stuff. Very apparent that the animator researched and read good material on firefights and gunplay, even down to the smallest of details. Loved how you can tell what they’re communicating just from body language alone. I thought the flashbang in the mouth part was an insane way to end the final shootout, very unorthodox and new. I could write an essay on how this video is great, but I think it speaks for itself.
@@somnolentSlumber I always thought the protagonist was a calm character, but I love the humanising depictions of him, such as she frightened expressions and the way she gets angry when he finds out she friends have been avenged! I used a translator, so I'm sorry if it means something strange.
I love the moment at 16:14. You can really feel the anger turn into fear as things go wrong. Without saying a word, you can understand the sheer panic she went through knowing she was utterly outmatched. Makes it all the better when her ally helps keep her safe and renews her morale. Genuinely that moment was so good and stands out in particular to me. Masterful animation!
