Oh my goodness. I am so jealous. Ever since we stayed in a restored Machya in Kyoto back in 2010 I have been fascinated with traditional Japanese furniture. I even found an old book in a bookstore here in Australia all about the history and making of it. One day I hope to own a piece also. In Australia you can’t get a good piece of antique Japanese furniture for under $1000. The meal looked delicious even though I am not a fan of mackerel 😂.
Thank you for your comment as always! Yeah, We are super lucky to have these nice pieces of furniture! Even in Japan, the antique furniture is expensive. If I were to buy that chest in veranda at a store, it would cost over $1000🙌 I would like to read that book you have. It is always fun to read the history and origins of a favorite things. I’m a big fan of Shima Mackerel😂But a salmon is better😋
