Hm, a pretty simple song, but the way R-906 tunes Miku is so powerful and emotional... (how the beginning part singing is repeated). R-906 lyrics translations perplexes me a lot... I guess this is about being in denial? That is why the arrow shot back at her since being in denial technically means you actually need to admit it (that you actually like it). I think. This song is still confusing to me lyrically. Thanks for the translations though. This song is really a banger, I can't stop listening to it. 😩🥰

my theory on the song is that the singer is in denial about being in love and keeps "shooting down" her beloved's remarks. at the end the other person shoots back at her, forcing her to accept her own feelings

*Slightly modified. I interpreted this as a song from the perspective of a man who is one-sidedly in love with her. I thought the song is sung from the perspective of the man who is watching her, not her who is shooting the arrow, as the singer says "僕(boku)の歌" and "僕" is the subject used only by men. Also, "貴女(you)" is a second person used only for women. Hence, "you" in this song refers to a woman. He says "Keep silent just like that." to her as she continues to sharpen herself not even looking at him, but he doesn't want her to love him back from the first place, he just wants her not to deny it. As he worships the image of "she who is complete without him," who is so focused on hitting the target in front of her that she doesn't even look at him. But there is one part of the story in which she speaks for once, after being silent about him for so long. It is a line that appears only in one place in the latter half of the song: "What makes you so crazy? You're trembling even now, right? Now the while chrysanthemum's broken, No matter how many times you paint the there's absolutely no point in your picturing those things so many times, huh?" This is the only word that shoots an arrow back from her to the man's favor, the question of why he continues to direct meaningless favors toward her that he knows will not be reciprocated. At this time, she thought she denied his love, but for him, even the denial from her was her love. Because she affirmed his existence. So, the image she is pierced by her arrows is metaphor which represents the contradiction of interpretation of her words from her point of view and his point of view. (Btw the "affirm" here can be taken to mean twofold: that she "affirmed" his existence, and that he "affirmed" her claim the his love for her is totally meaningless. The English translation uses the subject "I", but the subject is not mentioned in the Japanese lyrics) From her side she know she doesn't love him at all, but from his side he received her love. But since this is a song from his point of view, the contradiction is only visible to his eyes.

By the way, the language of flowers of white chrysanthemum is "truth," "adoration," and "sincere heart". The broken white chrysanthemum can be taken as a metaphor that his sincere love was not fulfilled. However, it may be worth mentioning that these flowers are often used as offerings to the deceased as Buddhist flowers. If this flower is metaphor of death, maybe it means his love has already continued dying many times, so he is saying that "he wants to cry in the nirvana."

Or, another interpretation could be that the man is already dead and she continues to offer white chrysanthemum flowers to him repeatedly after he is dead. In this case, it would means that he is still longing for the woman who is still alive from the "nirvana". I'm kinda afraid that this interpretation would also be consistent with the lyrics...

僕 can still be used by women if they want to. It wouldn't be seen as very odd but does give off "androgynous vibes" whenever used by a woman

@@karuko4072Surely, you're right. However, if it's a woman who is using it, it would mean that both characters in this video are women, so I thought it was more likely to be a man. It's not entirely unlikely that a woman would use it, though👍
