東日本大震災からの復興支援のため、岩手県盛岡市の公園で静態保存されていたC58形蒸気機関車239号機（C58 239）を修復し、2014年4月12日から運行を開始したJR釜石線のSL銀河。岩手県出身の作家宮沢賢治の小説『銀河鉄道の夜』をモチーフをした列車は、多くの人々に親しまれてきました。しかし、客車の老朽化に伴い、2023年6月11日の団体臨時列車でラストランを迎え、9年間の歴史に幕を閉じました。この動画では最終日のSL銀河の姿を昼（足ヶ瀬～平倉）と夜（宮守川橋梁（めがね橋））に分けてお届けします。
The steam locomotive train "SL GINGA" on the JR Kamaishi line started its operation on April 12, 2014 after restoring Class C58 steam locomotive (C58-239), which had been statically preserved in a park in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, in order to support recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. Many people have been familiar with the train based on the novel "Night on the Galactic Railroad" by Kenji Miyazawa, a writer from Iwate Prefecture. However, due to the deterioration of the passenger cars, the last run was on June 11, 2023 with a special group train, and the nine-year history ended. In this video, we will show you the SL GINGA on the final day, divided into daytime (Ashigase to Hirakura) and nighttime (Miyamorigawa Bridge).
