Actually you can see here nene doesnt really get SUPER much part in this song, but haters keep blaming her for taking too much parts. I would just say its because her performance is outstanding 😉
This stage (the third stage) is called the concept evaluation stage, in which the contestants are divided into 5 teams (or 6 as other seasons have done, however, I think all the seasons after the first original produce season (the one that produced IOI) and season 2 are going to be doing this as these seasons have always maintained the number of songs to 6, this season also has 6 songs), and each team will perform an original song either created for them or that the team created (although this one is rare or even havent been done yet), the theme and emphasis for this one is concept, so each song is different and caters to one unique concept (cute, girl crush, sexy, emotional etc.) And genre (hip hop, edm, house, soul, ballad, classical etc.) In the end of all performances, the national producers (the viewers) would vote for the best song out of all 5 or 6 songs, and the song that comes first place is: (1)the one featured as the first track in the official studio EP which is the compilation of the 5 or 6 songs (note: the songs are ordered by rank, from the song with the highest votes as the the first track all the way to the song with the lowest votes as the last track, however I dont really know if this applies to all seasons of the produce series, since the previews for the songs specifically this season were arranged as if they were already ranked? However filming takes earlier than releasing the episodes so it may kinda make sense) (2)the team who performed the winning track either gets to perform another song as a reward OR gets to have more exposure through a commercial or a special live (however the special live caters more to the top contestants of the particular stage or round) (3) it could help the trainees have higher vote numbers in the rankings somehow
