hi guys :D
so i've been planning to make this for a while
the footage is actually a few months old at this point (maybe older)
actually, this is from before V6 came out, so i'm sorry i couldn't instruct you on that really... from my understanding its not that much different from V5 though, and even though i used Piapro to demonstrate, the skills are pretty much transferrable to.. well really any synth software i think.
ummm... i dont really know what else to say! i hope it helps and if anyone has any questions, just comment below and i'll do my best to answer them :D

something to keep in mind is that the longer main note we notebend into can sound wildly different based on what kind of phoneme we use so it's a good idea to experiment between using [-] and [a] (or another vowel we're using at the moment) to get the kind of sound we want (or even forgo notebend and simply pitchebnd a [ka] (for example) note instead if we prefer that). additionally notebending especially with extremely short notes can completely throw off the consonant AND vowel lengths of the neighboring notes so you should always keep a look out on that c: also i find it's generally a good idea to make use of the portamento parameter if we're notebending

What is portamento parameter? I’ve always wondered what it was for 🤔
@stormfist9927
@stormfist9927 5 месяцев назад
@@red_covers_it changes the point at which the pitch of one note changes into the next one. with a high value it's later and with a low value it's earlier. it's easy to see the effect in vocaloid 4 and higher because of the visible pitch curve on top of your notes ^^

@@stormfist9927 I never knew about this, thank you so much! Do you know if that particular setting is in VOCALOID 5?

at some cases to tight notebending can make voicebank swallow some consonants, so it's better to learn tuning through pitch bend parameter
@SweetSoSweet
@SweetSoSweet 2 месяца назад
i don't think one way is better than the other, they both have advantages. notebending is easier to do, and you can get some very interesting results out of it that you can't achieve by pitchbending alone. its also a beginner-friendly technique. but you are right, sometimes there is an issue with the consonants. i personally actually use a combination of both techniques. i think teaching people to notebend is a good way to open the door to learning how to pitchbend. seeing how you should bend the note helps you understand the process of tuning and how you can apply it in different ways. (:
@nangaku_
@nangaku_ 2 месяца назад
@@SweetSoSweet no, i absolutely don't mind notebending, it's still a good option in learning and actually tuning, i'm using it too, but the next step after learning notebending is using pitch bend and i want people who are new at voca-producing to know their course

this is my favorite method ever ❤ pitchbend almost never works for me, I find this way easier to control and it has better results too (ofc some people make amazing pitchbends, not me though 😅) and using both methods at the same time can give amazing results too!! this tutorial is really good!
@SweetSoSweet

late response, but yes i personally use a combination of both techniques! adding pitchbends really help give things an "oomf" i didn't cover it in this video though since i wanted to keep it simpler for beginners 😄

is there any substantial difference in how it sounds/the workflow compared to pitchbending?
@SweetSoSweet
@SweetSoSweet 6 месяцев назад
not too much, no !! i only started doing it more recently so i dont have a lot of experience under my belt, but its been fun. its a bit more challenging in vocaloid, but i've found that sometimes it can sound a little cleaner, albeit less smooth, but it all depends on how you do it. the technique and pattern is pretty much the same though. you have to change it in studio one. it will be at the bottom, towards the right! maybe look up how to change the tempo in that since its a little hard for me to describe the location

i'm not sure if someone else asked already but do you get all the voicebanks when you download piapro? or do you have to get the software and then download the voicebanks? :')
@SweetSoSweet
@SweetSoSweet Год назад
actually the opposite, you have to purchase a voicebank in order to get piapro. and piapro ONLY comes with cryptonloids (miku, rin, len, luka, kaito, and meiko). it is also only compatible with the V3 and V4 voicebanks. hope that helps!

Hello! How do i find exact tune(or notes) for a certain song? I want to cover a song with miku and luka, but I can't seem to find the right notes (a, f, c etc. for example) do you just play around with it until you get the right note? :'D sorry for asking a dumb question
@SweetSoSweet
@SweetSoSweet Месяц назад
@@faruzao to be honest, i can't answer that. i'm not very good at playing by ear. i was never musically trained, i cant even identify notes really. if theres a song i really want to cover, i just search for a midi file because you can load those into vocaloid just like a vsqx file. you can also just look at piano tutorials and copy the notes they play. if you can read sheet music (i cant lol) thats another method that may help as well. i hope these tips help!

its not an app for anything like a mobile device, if thats what you're asking. its computer software called vocaloid, and a few other software programs listed in the description. its a bit complicated, so if you're interested in using it, do your research on what exactly you need!
