I was born in Uganda, East Africa and around 1966 the first Japanese exibition came to our town. They showcased several Japanese products, cars, trucks, home appliances etc. I was 7 years old at the time but I remember seeing Isuzu, Toyota, Nissan/Datsun vehicles there. People were impressed because soon after we started seeing Isuzu TD trucks (as the buses in this clip, Isuzu cars, Toyota cars and Coaster buses and other products. The Isuzu TD/TX trucks were very popular with transporters as they were very reliable, even the mechanics loved them. And Datsun 240Z and 1600SSS cars participated in the East African Safari Rally, with success.
@@potashi719 Yes, Isuzu trucks were very popular, the TD/TX series as shown in your clip as buses. Their diesel engines were well designed, robust and enduring. After that exposition, within a year we started seeing Isuzu, Hino, Datsun, Toyotas on the roads. Before the exposition we had mostly British made stuff, Leyland, Bedford, Ford (UK), Austin/Morris, etc very boring and unreliable. The Japanese vehicles and products took the market as they were better.☘
the weird part about the British with vehicles unreliableness is i have a jeep from Canada and i live in America so That should say unreliable but mine model right is the most reliable thing I've ever owned and the longest vechele I've had was the jeep! i basically cant blow it up!! and ill tell you why its not as good as the a toyota engineering till you hear this engineering feet my jeep is so reliable because jeep canada made it so you couldn't over rev the vehicles' engine and blow the motor because it was tuned that way......... and it wasn't a 4cyl it was a inline 6 4.2l that had no HORSEPOWER, more horse power in jeeps is wat makes them unreliable overall which is why my engine is a gem of genius but all the torque in the world! SO you might top out at 65 at 1.5RPM and you just went through someones house but didnt feel it becasue the torque lmfao basically you can run its oil off maple syrup............. legit a backwards toyota....... doesn't need the right oil JUST NEEEDS liquid I GUESS CANADAIN LIFE brb stops at the maple store tree for da oil XD lmfao
@@mohabatkhanmalak1161 not many. you might be able to look it up the motor and see if its anywhere near you has it its called a 1988 4.2l sahara! these canadain yj jeeps were barely exported to america again so im sure they might only be in north america area! the regualar jeep that isnt carb'd yj on the other hand you could probably buy worldwide its just super hard to find the canadain jeep motor and that unkillable platform and dumb easy to find american jeep yjs which look like the same thing really
