@andreasamati Yes heard that argument before,you have a clone in the US,a lover of Heifetz. Well leaving that one ,my friend who plays the piano in concerts in uk tells me that there are many experts and critics on youtube !! You speak as a person of such unbounded knowledge on the subject of playing the violin that you are obviously one of these so called *elite* string players/musicians from the US you speak of ,so once again Maestro,let us see you perform then,come on dont be shy !!
@andreasamati
@andreasamati 14 лет назад
@lovemetu Actually my opinion is the majority amongst the *elite* string players/musicians who play in big 5 U.S. orchestras, teach at institutions, and perform with orchestras. Chang is a product of the DeLay PR machine, and really a very elementary violinist. It is not a matter of opinion, but fact, that Sarah Chang plays very out of tune and has no idea how to distribute or divide the bow.

There aren't any, but it's still a mighty fun piece to play. Your profile says that you're 28, so I'm assuming you want to wow your significant other with a snazzy cadenza? I think Mendelssohn or Wieniawski No. 2 shouldn't be too much of a stretch if you're able to handle Bruch, and both have cadenzas.
@lovemetu
@lovemetu 14 лет назад
@andreasamati You would appear to be in a minority with your opinion of this performance by the Virtuoso violinist Sarah Chang .Perhaps you are a Master Violinist yourself who can do better,in which case perhaps we can see some of your own performances on youtube in the near future ?
@andreasamati
@andreasamati 14 лет назад
@honkeydonkeyponkey She's not a very good violinist. That's a fact. Just because you get a little tingle below the belt when you see her videos does not mean she's a great violinist. What are your qualifications?
@Srouble
@Srouble 15 лет назад
This is a very impressive rendition, I saw her live performing the Mendelssohn and I found it slighhtly dissapointing however this is a much better reflection of her abllity to play the violin.

wonderful music. i have one question regarding the name. bruch is spelled buruffu, but shouldn't it be ブルッハ, buruhha like in バッハ, bahha for bach? just wondering, i'm teaching myself japanese right now.

This is what I think not your thoughts, I think that this concerto is soooo beautiful and so fun to play, for me i played this before, but I think that all the three movements in this piece have nothing in comment together, it all sound soo different from each other, the first one is more of a slow and soft sounding, and the second is realllllllly soft and slow, and the third one is really fast with all of doubles stop.
@kuvhlubkojibleegxwbo
@kuvhlubkojibleegxwbo 15 лет назад
Like at 5:50 its the tutti for the orchestra, and she's playing with them, in the music sheet its not a solo part. i played this piece before, its really weird how she played the tutti too.

It looks like child's play for her. What i like here is: she joined into the orchestral part on her own & i like the spirit there.

Sarah Chang is sublime and the world's greatest violinist but this orchestra is superb and the conductor magnificent in this concerto. The way he controls the base line in the full orchestral parts is masterly, but as is so often thecase with these videos we are not told his name or the orchestra although I think it's the Japanese Symphony Orchestra. Does anyone know the name of this conductor?

The 2nd and 3rd movements were posted on youtube before but I tink they were removed due to copyright infringement.. One of the best Bruch I've seen/heard! Especailly when she plays the tutti with the orchestra. So Autumnsnakearchive, if possible, post the 2nd and 3rd movements again! Many thanks. Kudos for posting this.

So wonderful!!! Sarah Chang and Haendel are truly the best woman violinist living in my humble opinion and just as good as any famous male master. This is extraordinairy and a miracle!!! I too consider her and Haendel as godess of violin! When I listen to others of about the same age and generation (except Repin of course who is a god in its own right) it confirms even more my impression about her greatness and I always come back to her sound. BRAVO TO HER!!!

The fact she plays the tutti part is very interesting to me in a good way. Perhaps other soloists should consider that as well!
