シンガポール MRT（地下鉄）1993年頃　Singapore MRT 1993 

How quiet, enjoyable and cosy MRT rides used to be. I remembered many of its carriages were almost empty in the early afternoon.

From a guy that was born in 2000, I have never imagined how clean af the inner side of the PSDs were before they accumulated dirt over the years. And glass escalators at Dhoby Ghaut?? My last time I rode on the unrefurbished C151 was in 2007. Platform tunnel ads are also dead... Adds some form of vibrancy till God know what happened to them today.

Great shots of the greatest passenger system in the world. I have been to Singapore more than 30 times since the mid eighties and have marveled at the constant improvement and development of this excellent system. Can’t wait to get back there again very soon!

I love it how the PSDs make a sound before the doors close. It's a shame they didn't continue this except when the trains are crowded. Would have really helped those hard of sight or are blind. 😢 And R.I.P. Juanita Melson...

Back those golden days... it was a real pleasure to travel in the train.. with seats available... Now a day.. it was a mad rush.. very crowd, with smell of all kind.. FT spoke loudly... I still prefer the metro of Taipei..

Im born in the 2010s and did not expect the PSDs to be so clean! And I never saw glass escalators at an MRT station before. The PSDs also close gently after the train doors compared to the PSDs slamming shut violently before the train doors close today.

Before those driverless MRT lines opem, the NS EW lines had two colours per line. We now have one colour per line too.

The sound of the train used to alarm passenger that the door was about to close in the past is now only used when the train has alot of passenger / someone was still on the door when the door was about to close. If im sure

it's nice to see a time when people weren't all looking at their phones in the train

I'll miss these trains that will run them. They'll be retired by the turn of mid 2020s

Sayonara now to the first generation trains as they retire from service after 3 decades. We grew up riding these trains both before and after their refurbishment. They will be replaced by 66 New trains.

I really miss those times.

The new Jurong East announcements are: Next station Jurong East, cross over to platform E (or D) for train services to Woodlands and Ang Mo Kio.

damn, i prefer the golden days of Singapore MRT. The "doors closing" chime was similar to the ones in Tokyo, Taiwan and others. I don't like the latest DAC announcement as I feel like they don't fit very well. Those days where CBTC wasn't introduced yet, one-step brake, unrefurbished C151, old announcements, COMMON C151 UNLIKE 2019 WHERE C151B KEEPS SPAMMING ITSELF, no PMSM, no IGBT-VVVF. I wish there was a way to turn back time.

I was borned in 1994. JM announcements are better than now one. When i was 10-14 i used to hear JM announcement too much.

55 C651 came to singapore in 1987 than in 1995, a few more C651 came into service with a different motor
