I just finished watching the Glen Miller story for the fourth time. I never get tired of it. My favourite has to be this scene, watching the men march.
I loved that scene from the movie "The Glenn Miller Story" where the colonel is giving Miller (played by Jimmy Stewart) a warning about "Blasting out! Right in the General's face!" Then the general walks in on them and congratulates MIller on "That fine band. Giving the men a little piece of home". Then the colonel has egg on his face! 🎶
I love this film even though the ending makes me cry as my dad got me into Glenn miller when i was younger as me and him would watch it over and over again miss you dad
forgot what the film was called when glen miller and his band played this song to pep the soldiers up they looked tired and worn out.he sure woke them all up spring in their steps and big smile on their faces.
@@brilliantmarch8338 According to Miller's biographer George T. Simon, what actually happened was even better than the (fictional) scene in the film. Miller was reprimanded by a senior officer who harrumphed something like "We played Sousa during the last war and we came out OK". Rather than mumbling and being rescued by another officer as shown in the film, Capt. Miller immediately shot back "Tell me, Major. Are you still flying the same planes you did in the last war too?" HAH!
That uniform is from the 1950s and in the movie the Army was intergrated. Not so when this movie took place, and especially no black officers over white units.
Geez. Nobody "stole" the tune. Thousands of tunes had multiple versions by multiple performers. This is one more - a great one, but just one more. Learn how pop music worked back then!!
