Cheers for another great lesson, Nic! ☺️ It couldn't have been clearer! It makes me think I have to put a little more effort into my Japanese studies, but I won't let it get to me.
タイミングよく新しい、そして相変わらず難しい問題に全てチャレンジする事が出来ました。完璧に聞き取れたのは「That's not what I asked you.」だけでしたが、「 I couldn't have been clearer.」も惜しいところまでいけました。特に後者は「kudunuv」を前に教えてもらっていたので、これだなと確信できました。naturalな会話を聞き取るのは、いつも超難しいですが、こうやって解説してくれるのはニックさんだけなので、これからも宜しくお願いします!!
Thank Nick sensei for today’s lecture. I’m sure I have improved little by little through your instructions. Today, hearing many times, I managed to be able to hear about 70% by myself. My many mistakes are that I take the words for other words because of the changes of pronunciation. For example, “interested” turns like “understand”! But after your instruction, I have come to be able to hear the right words and the right pronunciations. Thank you. I’m looking forward to the next lecture. And if there are misses in my expression of this comment, please tell me them. I’ll be very happy to hear that.
めちゃくちゃ余計なお世話ですけど ❶I'm improving little by little... Continuous form ❷I had watched your (this?)video several times and then I managed to catch about 70% today... past perfect x past simple ❸I misheard many times like interested and understand, past simple ❹but after watching your video, I can hear clearly what they are talking about.... after+ ing verb I’m looking forward to watching your next video if there are grammatical errors, please let me know. I’d be really appreciated. 少し間違いあるかもしれん🙏 ニックさんのはintermediate〜advanceくらいだと思うので(海外生活でマジで役に立つ) BBC learning English で基礎学んでからの方が英語伸びるの早いと思いますよ。course からelementaryかpre-intermediate選択して1から30くらいまであるので1〜2ヶ月やってみてください😉無料だし登録しなくて良いしおすすめ!
自分用 0:20 What makes you think I'm not interested in fashion? 3:22 That wasn't a question. 5:00 But I can't let Miranda get to me. 7:13 What is it that you want me to say to you, huh? Do you want me to say "Poor you"? 9:42That's not what I asked you.I could't have been clearer.
1. What makes you think I'm not interested in fashion? OK. This one was easy. 2. It wasn't a question. I thought the sentence started with "it" but after I went back and listened, it was surely "that." Nick-san, please explain why I messed up the first word? My explanation is because I do not have clear understanding of the situational difference as to when English speaking people use "it" instead of "that" and vice versa. Arn't I correct? 3 Hekomi 3. But I can't let MIranda against??? me. Get to me? Geee, Miserable! 5 Hekomi 4. What is it that you want me to say, huh? Do you want me to say, 'poor you' ? Nto good. I still cannot hear "to you" in the first sentence. I guess the second sentence, "Do you want me to say, " Context is easy to understand; thus, it even hurts more. 3 Hekomi 5. Well, that's not what I asked you. I couldn't have been clearer. What? I got this one correct?? Nick-san, thank you for putting out challenging clips. I have to watch your videos more often and need to review the ones I watched.
今回もめちゃくちゃ役に立つ動画ありがとうございます!! どれも初回でなんとなーく聞き取れるんですけど、言ってる意味(訳)がパッとわからないです。。特にI can’t let Miranda get to me.とか、I couldn’t have been clearer.とか言い回しとしてすっと意味が入ってきにくいです😭なぜか4番は細かい単語が聞き取れずとも、おにいさんの言いたいことはすぐわかりましたw この映画は見たことないんですが、メリル・ストリープっていつも声の調子や話し方がきれいで個性ありますよねー😃
I love The Devil Wears Prada so much! I have a DVD and I've seen this movie countless times but I didn't understand even though I listened it over and over. Thanks to listening to Nick先生's explanation , I can now understand some lines.
I saw a lot this movie so I was supposed to know but I don’t catch I practice more hearing and speaking You made me motivation thank you so much!! Have a good day
Hello ニック先生❣️I could catch the first one and the last one! 😊✨ But the second / third ones were too difficult! 😥 やはりすでに知っていて自分でも良く使ってる表現は、聞こえやすいですね!インプット大事!! Satomi
@@nicwilliamson I really think so! Some RU-vidrs are saying that “output” is more important than “input” but I disagree with those opinions! You’re the best English teacher! I’ll continue to study English in a balanced manner!😊
Hi Nic! I'm kurumi, I'm looking for the move, because I love that movie. I watched 50 times maybe, but I found I couldn't listen clearly. Thank you for give me a chance to learn English, I hope you up date second times on this movie. Bye!!
I could answer 5 out of 5 thanks to your video!! First time I watched your video was 3 months ago. At the time, I couldn't have heard nothing! However, more videos I watched, More words I got understand! I really appreciate you!
Hi Nic! Thanks for the great lesson! I was able to understand most of what they said, but it was hard to speak like them for me. I think repeating after you is really good practice. If there is any chance, could you teach us about “numbers”, please? Some natives say twelve hundred for 1,200 but others say one thousand and two hundreds etc. Thank you!
Hi Nick! what a coincidence! I watched this movie yesterday night via Netflix, I fell asleep in the middle. I will watch it from scratch again. I could catch "What makes you think I am not interested in fashion", but the others were hard. But I understood what they want to tell some how. Thanks a lot.
ニックさんの本やアプリで勉強しています。 いつも素晴らしい動画をありがとうございます。 ひとつ質問です。 I couldn't have been clearer. 『kudunuv のv』と『 been のb』は 両方とも発音するんですか? 子音と子音が続くし音も似ているので、どちらか省きたくなるのですが・・・。
I was totally annihilated by these questions this time as usual. But I was able to catch some parts like " not interested, get to me, want me to, and asked you." I think your lessons have improved my listening skills little by little. I want to watch movies without subtitles.
Thank you so much for this really nice lesson, Nick! It's very good to understand what natives are saying. But, I'm afraid to say this, do we need to speak just like natives do? Surely we have to pronounce words understandably, but native pronunciations are not so necessary, I guess. Little bit too hard😓
You didn't understand his point. You don't need to perfectly speak same as how native speakers do. But you can't understand what they are talking about without trying to speak like them. If you practice and try to speak how native speakers speak, you can improve your listening skill.
I could not get what the bald man said. Even after explanation, his saying sounds you try me to say poor..? and "I could not have been clearer." I think I could used this expression as well as "don't let her get to you." in real occasions. what's the difference between get to someone and get on someone's nerve. and if the difference is little, which is more often used?
I'm so glad to hear that! このシリーズの他のかいもぜひ観てみてください^^ このシリーズのポイントの纏めは、この動画をぜひ観てみてください: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QPZJu5SE4l8.html 「英語聞き取りバイブル」です^^ I hope it helps!
