glad you had a great time here! Japadog is RIDICULOUSLY good, I pass like two of their stands on my way to and from work and its so hard to say no and keep walking.

I went to Gyukaku on my birthday last year in Japan and they came out with a guitar and sang happy birthday and it was really sweet/embarrassing. I loooove Yakiniku though. I could eat it all day.

Wow It's amazing how different Vancouver looks through someone else's eyes. It looks so pretty and modern. Maybe my school was just in a dirtier/ older part of the downtown core.

There's just something magical about grilling meat that makes me soooo happy *u* And you're right, the portions are huge for the price. I went on a date there once, and we only spent $20-30 for the both of us and were completely stuffed! I guess they didn't sing for me because I didn't mention it, but the whole staff came out once for someone's 21st birthday. They got everyone to join in and sing! I guess because it's a very small/cozy place that everyone feels close to one another.

Gyukaku is my favorite! They have two locations in Los Angles (West L.A. and Beverly Hills), and I always go there for my birthday or special occasions!

I met some people who said they came from Vancouver Island, which was pretty far--considering the short notice and all. It was so weird. When I saw it was raining that day, I was like, "nah, nobody is going to come meet us..." but they DID.

I never really learned. I just started using them and made it up as I went along. If you are just starting out, a regular digital camera, or even the most recent iphones/ipads take good quality video... That might give you a chance to develop a style and figure out what you need.

Have you ever been to Vancouver? There are a lot of non-Japanese people who speak Japanese. And many other languages. You get to hear a lot of non-English languages on transit everyday. A lot of my friends speak more than one language. Non-Asians speaking Korean and Japanese. It's a good city for learning new languages. It's very diverse.

lolol it's harder to find western restaurants in vancouver than asian ones. There are rougly ten blocks of restaurants near where I live. Out of those ten blocks there are twelve japanese restaurants, one being japanese/korean, seven indian, two taiwan, eight chinese, two filipino and one old fashioned western hamburger joint. Lol. We use to have a mcdonalds across of the western hamburger joint, but they tore it down two years ago. All markets are indian or asian.

I just saw gunnarolla's related video on this meetup, and YES, CIAELA, I THINK YOU'RE BETTER THAN JENNA MARBLES. Both are beautiful, but one is definitely less obnoxious, seemingly more intelligent and more educational! It's like a comparison between Canadian and American culture.

未来世紀ジパングでやってたけど、カナダは日本の総菜パンがジャパドックとして人気があるみたいね。日本文化がこういう形で現地に馴染むのは日本人としては凄くうれしい限り。日本の食パンってワールドワイドで通じると思うから、山崎とかもっと進出すればいいのにと思うってしまう。

LOLz!!! I have already. I live in East Village, I'm not too far from either of these places. So you can imagine I stuff myself with them every chance I get! However, it's counter productive since I'm trying to save up to go visit Japan one day.... =P
