I can assure you, having seen this live, that there was no trampoline, Michael spent months at circus school to be able to do this role brilliantly, without need for anything other than his own talent! If you saw this live too, as you said you did, you'd know that there was no trampoline, it was just Michael being Michael and wanting it to be as authentic as possible, 'cos that's how he rolls!!!!
Crawford is amazing! Not just walking the wire, but singing at the same time, then that dip, which I wouldn't want to try to do on the flat ground. Wonderful show, but for me this is the standout piece!
Yes, I was in the audience the night before the final performance in 1986. My mother and older brother were there with me, and our jaws were dropping the whole time. Seeing it live was an unbelievable experience.
