I love how oddly juxtaposed the corvette is on Japanese circuits especially central, just designed for a whole different world of motorsport

haha yeah, I wanted something different and its very much that. Also drives complete opposite to a civic too. The locals had no idea about the z06 and assumed it weighed 2 tons and was auto. After the first day it was "please use your civic its more fun" LOL Looks like Ill need to put it up against the big boy R35s and tuned Evos / Rx7s.

about as polar opposite to civics as you can get. Should be fun learning this thing.

You need longtube headers and metalcats. It makes the sound of the car much more aggressive and sceaming. Its even more fun to drive then.

some sort of exhaust mod is high on the priority list. its WAY too quiet as is.

not sure how good it would be in the hills to be honest, its on par or maybe slightly slower than the civics in the tight stuff. with no straights to stretch its legs I think it might be in a bit of trouble. Not to mention it would nearly take up the entire width of the road 😅

@@JesseStreeter that's true! They do got some good hips & fat asses lol Is it strictly a grip machine or do you think youll eventually change from grip & knock against some doors on the touge with it?

@@bennyc6694 probably not? bit expensive to repair / smash up with parts more difficult to source and I have other cars I use for drift. Also having the same type of car as the others (s-chassis) makes the driving a lot tighter and more fun. So cant see the vette being used for drift in the hills much.

@@bennyc6694 already upgraded oil coolers, coil overs, brakes, seat, steeringwheel. next will be bigger/better tyres, harness bar and louder exhaust. 👍

to be honest I really like the door to door racing and battles, so after lap 4 was pretty boring and just cruised around so the car and tyres didnt get too hot. The corvette was OP for this day. If I can get it ready in time it will have its work cut out next race day with no rules except NA. Will be a couple of race spec GT3 911s. 🙈

How do you think the Corvette would do on a mountain pass with suspension mods.... would it be a struggle handling wise...... should people give up on Civics and get a V8 car?

civics would kill the vette in the hills, the width and weight make it difficult in corners and while it has power its more difficult to get that power down, especially in tight stuff. So while the vette stomps them on the circuit if you make the course tight/technical enough vette will lose.

@@JesseStreeter Oh ok cool I had an idea it would be how you said it would be. Can you imagine the Drift King piloting the Civic on the hills that would be crazy. Seeker and Stradle has some good Civics on the mountain on Best Motoring's Hot Version. I thought Vettes were very low( Boomers complain about it sometimes) but maybe you're talking about the suspension not being lowered on Coil overs.

@@sheldonlamey7010 check my instagram, I have done a lot of mountain driving in civics. @jessestreeter94 I think the EG/EK civics feel and handling is better than the c6 corvettes, they are completely different cars though (reason I got the vette is I wanted something opposite to the civic) I like both cars but for different reasons.

I smiled a bit seeing those civics pestering you on the slower sections. The vette would destroy when you get it setup. Are there classes with faster cars as well?

yeah next race is ossan cup (grandpa racing) divided up into age groups and just NA or Turbo, will be a couple of 911 porsches in that one. have ordered in some proper tires to compensate so will see how that goes.

The handling is less than ideal because you are wearing 275/295 tires when the better setup is 285/335

That would be great if those tyre sizes were available in japan, is also the reason the car runs slicks in the other races it does which dont have regulation of radial tyres needed 👍 As is the vette was so fast in its class in this series I stopped entering them as it was boring with easy pole position to checker each time.

yeah not as bad as I thought it would be around corners though, will dial that in more and if I can get it to corner a little better it will be very quick, I think there is a fair bit left on the table there.

It was competitive in the corners too. Only the RX8 and cappuccinos were beating it in the corners. In the braking zones of course it's messed up because it has to brake earlier due to the monster top speed in the straights and the weight. If the Vette was set up like the stock (with the pilot cup 2 tires with 285/335 sizes), the Z06 would be the quickest in the corners too (well, maybe it'd equal the RX8).

i dont know if i like or dislike this, on one hand can picture a streeter style corvette on some proper jdm wheels couple rare aero parts made for some other Japanese car retrofitted along side motorcycle mirrors & that could be the only vette i'll ever like but on the other hand its a corvette.... its the arch nemesis tuning exists solely to kill vettes w/ civics & silvias American v8's sound like Satan farting i only want to hear v8's as they struggle to keep up with turbocharged super lightweight dohc 4 cyls playing the song of my people at 9k rpm's off the limiter w/ an encore of wastegate & bov turbo 4's & inline 6's sound like an angels orgasm. the only american cars worth their weight were made in the 60's all downhill from there.

Hahah I already cant stand the barn door side mirrors on it and seeing if hurrican mirrors would work. I used to be very set in cars I liked but snow drifting and civics taught me that hating on cars just limited my own experience and kei car snow drifting and civics were actually a heap of fun. Went corvette for something new and due to the ridiculous JDM tax on everything these days. Lots of things I dont like about the vette thats for sure! People complain about the plastic interior? to me thats not an issue at all, the fact its built like complete crap and everything just falls to pieces is what Im having a harder time with. Also they do stuff like magnesium cross members, dry sumps, transaxles, titanium rods then put leaf springs and sofa seats in them WTF? Has been fun so far but if it turns into too much of a headache it will have to go.
