THIS IS GREATNESS, just a kids band, BUT what an example of co-ordination, perfect musical execution and... enthusiasm. In fact, their enthusiasm is also partially derived from the fact that THEY (not some lluminated director) are the creators of most of their coreography and also they were always eager to join the band - with all those endless hours of training and rehearsal. Kudos to their everlasting smiles, a great part of their charisma! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Phenomenal, as usual. Some folks find it difficult to walk and chew gum at the same time, but these kids can dance while playing bulky sousaphones, glockenspiels and bass drums. They truly are one of a kind.
4 years ago I knew nothing of this band,now I find them Essential to life itself! LOL! They are truly Japan's Finest Ambassadors to The World and I Love Them!!!

I really love this video in particular because they have a few good shots of my adoptive granddaughter Penguin on the cymbals. There isn't anything that this little girl can't do. She played the glockenspiel during the 2018 Rose Parade along side her senpai Tippi (Chippi) on the xylophone. As I said Penguin does it all from drums/cymbals/glockenspiel, etc. Give her the chance she can even play a radio and tune it in really well.... She is just phenomenal, just like the rest of the Kyoto Tachibana SHS Marching Band. These girls/boys will never be out marched or out played, I don't believe in my personal opinion that there is any band that will come relatively close to them. Many times imitated, but never duplicated. They take what ever song and make it their own and create dance moves that fit the music they're playing perfectly. No hay nada que esta niña no pueda hacer. Tocó el glockenspiel durante el Desfile de las Rosas del 2018 junto a su senpai Tippi (Chippi) en el xilófono. Como dije, Penguin lo hace todo desde tambores / platillos / glockenspiel, etc. Dale la oportunidad de que incluso pueda tocar una radio y sintonizarla realmente bien ... Es simplemente fenomenal, al igual que el resto de Kyoto Tachibana SHS Banda de marcha. Estas chicas / chicos nunca saldrán a la calle ni a tocar, no creo en mi opinión personal de que haya ninguna banda que se acerque relativamente a ellos. Muchas veces imitado, pero nunca duplicado. Toman cualquier canción y la hacen propia y crean movimientos de baile que se ajustan perfectamente a la música que están tocando. Watching this amazing band brings a smile to my face every time. As a previous comment went chewing gum and walking is a struggle to most folks. This band plays and the choreography is brilliant. Long may they continue posting to here.
Not sure whether he has polio or some leg injury as in later videos he is playing French horn doing the same energetic choreography. Nevertheless, my respect for the band has gone up several notches due to this. They don't leave out any member in their performances, those with injury but can still walk, do so at the back like the guy here. For those who really can't make it, they leave their position open in the formation like they are there spiritually, that's why in some street parades or field performances, you will see gap(s). In general, Japanese bands look at their members as a whole person rather than focus on a negative aspect. In one of the all bands street parade, a DM for a high school band is post-polio. In a sit down elementary school orchestra performance, a girl has polio in both legs (this was an old video, probably more than 10 years ago).
I wish I could be one of these girls to get the opportunity to train with them and be part of something like this. I know it’s alot of rigorous training but it also seems so fun! Plus I’ve seen the same team a couple of times traveling to certain areas of the world so it seems like a great opportunity to enjoy your school experience!
I wish someone would post current KTSHS Band …. The older post 2015+ are great videos and have introduced the KTSHS Band to me and the world, they are truly a national treasure of Japan… but I would love to see current videos, if available…
When I watch these students perform (and I am now addicted to these kids...) I can't help but picture some music teachers sitting in a room somewhere 10 or so years ago.... "hey, I have this kind of crazy idea..... What if we had the band actually... dance to the music while they play? Could we make it work?" Hai!
Actually the idea was from a band member in 2005 after watching a television show called "Burn the Floor". The choreography is created by 5 members of the band. This is an after school club that has the practice time determined by the drum major. The 3rd year students teach the new members how to march the Tachibana way. They practice 37 hours/week 51 weeks/year and allow themselves a 3 day summer vacation while maintaining a 3.0 grade point average

Bonjour, pour 2019 oui y a des vidéos, en faisant une petite recherche "Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band" ou bien avec "京都橘高校吹奏楽部" tu en trouveras. Pour 2020, il me semble qu'il y en a eu, mais pas sur, vu le contexte...... En tout cas oui, c'est toujours un plaisir de voir des vidéos de ce groupe. J'ai encore jamais eu la chance de les voir de visu, je ne désespère pas !
