I've been a fan of the Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band since I first saw them at the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena California more than a few years ago. They are the epitome of excellence and determination. Lots of love from Brooklyn, New York City, USA.
The best band in the world! A great songs list for the new year. A third of the members are first graders that have just entered high school and joined the band less than a month ago and they are performing already. I'm very impressed with them. Give them a couple of more months and we will see total precision and great sound and they can go for their third consecutive gold medal in the all-Japan contest. 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊👏👏👏👏👏
Also noted they mixed the band formation more with instruments. A lot more diverse than previous years. better sound now at the rear of the formation.🤩

I am an old man (74) who has fortunately been able to experience many wonderful things in his life and for some months now the K.T. SHS Band has been part of this almost daily. What I have noticed now is the much better distribution of the instruments and thus a much better listening pleasure at the end of the music train...best regards from the Netherlands...Apseneis
The new DM learned from her predecessor well! In her I see great confidence, leadership and excellent baton twirling skills. She will lead the band to the third consecutive all-Japan gold medal. She's cute, too! Besides her, the other member I'm most impressed with is the tall snare drummer. She has a bigger role now as a second-year student and she's really showing her skills that I didn't know she possess. 😀👏🍊
These marching bands are the best. Fun for the spectators and band members alike. We can imagine the amount of work and practice has to be put in by these musicians to get it right. Youthful exuberance and musical talent. Fun to watch.
I want to see a video where she gives a high five to her two younger siblings. That's the ultimate after following them for years until the oldest finally achieved her dream.
@@winpe8135 The three sisters followed the band everywhere and it's their goal to be part of it one day. They attended almost every event and in parades, dressed in yellow and orange and hope to get a high five from someone. Their father has captured and documented a lot of the band encounters in their YT channel. One down and two more sisters to go. Just a few days out from their BH debut, their performance here is very sharp. The new leaders are doing a great job, and the 1st years are picking up fast. Hope to see videos of the upcoming joint performance with Seika Girls Marching Band after this event.
I'm so glad the Kyoto Tachibana High School band is back to wearing white socks. The white socks represent the petals of the Tachibana blossom, which is the school's namesake. The white socks are also a symbol of the band's unity and dedication. Tachibana is a type of Mandarin tree that has a lot of importance and status in Japanese society. The blossom is a symbol of purity, hope, and new beginnings. The pale orange of the main uniform matches the orange of the Tachibana fruit. The band is nicknamed, after all, the "Orange Devils" because of their trademark orange uniform. So, the uniform is closely linked to nature. The late Professor Hisashi Hiramatsu, who founded the band in 1961, wanted the band to express their femininity (before they became coed, unfortunately) through their uniforms. He didn't want them to look like a military-style marching band. So, he chose soft, vibrant colors that were inspired by the Tachibana blossom. I think the white socks are a great way to honor the school's history and traditions. They also look really sharp in the pale orange uniform.
