今天要和各位講共生共榮
Today I'm going to talk about
coexistence and mutual prosperity.
我們在這個世間上
In the world
假如只有我一個人
if there were only me
沒有人種田
and so no one cultivated
the fields for me,
我哪裡有飯來吃
I'd have no rice to eat.
沒有工人織布
If there were no workers
who weaved cloth,
我哪裡有衣服來穿
I'd have no clothes to wear.
沒有駕駛員
If there were no drivers,
我哪能乘車、乘飛機
how could I go by car or plane
到哪個地方去
to a distant place?
我在這個世間上
I'm able to survive in the world
是因為要有好多的人
simply because many people
士、農、工、商
all walks of life
他們和我共生
coexist with me,
他們給我的各種的需要
supplying me with various types of things
我才能生存
and so I could subsist.
一個小孩子有父母
If a family of parents and children
家庭很美滿
lives harmoniously,
貧、富都不重要
even though it's poor,
it just does not matter,
要有人
since they have their parents.
沒有父母
If they have no parents,
這個孤兒很辛苦
they, the orphans, will have a hard time.
所以這個世間上
So in the world,
管你哪一個人
no matter who you are,
你不能單獨存在
you cannot live alone,
你都要靠許多的人
as you need to rely on many people
許多的物質
and things
所謂天地日月
such as nature,
山河大地、樹木花草
mountains, rivers and land, plants,
這衣食住行
Our food, clothing,
housing and transportation
眾緣跟我共生
are inter-related.
既然共生我就要感謝他們
I need to thank coexistence.
他不是我的敵人
It's not my enemy,
他們都是幫助我的
but my aide
都是有因緣、有關係的
which has some kind of relationship
with me.
所以世界上人與人之間
So in the world, between people,
人與物之間、人與什麼
things and whatnot,
都應該彼此要尊重、彼此包容
we should mutually respect,
be mutually tolerant,
彼此和好
and keep on good terms.
因為共生的想法
Coexistence
就能有共榮 共同的光榮
leads to mutual prosperity.
比方說
Say for example,
我們做什麼事情
we do work
我們有個團隊
as a team.
多少人的意見
We contribute our thoughts
把一件事情共成
to accomplish a task.
我們有大眾支持
Teamwork
我們這個事情就好辦
makes thing easier.
所以有共生才有共榮
So coexistence leads to
mutual prosperity.
如果我見到這個人也討厭
If I dislike living
我見到那個人也不歡喜
or getting along with others,
那麼好啦 讓你一個人存在
then fine, you can live alone.
你一個人存在於天地之間
in the big big world -
山很高
the mountains are high,
海洋很寬廣
the oceans are vast.
你一個人有什麼意思
But what's the point of being alone?
所以我們需要人
We need to live as a group.
需要有緣人
We need someone who is congenial
需要跟我們和好的人
and good to us.
就需要我想跟大家結緣
Once I form an affinity with others,
我跟大家結緣大家就跟我結緣
others will also do likewise to me,
跟我結緣我們就能有團體
and hence we can become
an integral part of a group
我們就互相尊重、互相包容
which members mutually respect, tolerate,
互相信賴、互相幫助
trust, and help one another.
一切事業必定很容易成就
We then can easily make achievements
in our work.
所以大家要有共生共榮的思想
So we should have coexistence
and mutual prosperity in mind.
這個人生才比較有存在的價值
This makes our lives more valuable.
