人们惯性操作简报设计，而不是设计简报设计。简报设计爱好者陈劭康通过自身学习，从文字、图片和配色切入，认为懂得从判断排版、配色、字形与字体运用，才能够设计出简单而好看的 PPT。
We are used to creating PowerPoint slides, but not designing effective PowerPoint slides. Chan Shao Kang is particularly intrigued by the art of crafting good presentation slides and took his initiative to explore more on his own. He shared his learnings on how typography, images, colours and layout come together to form simple yet effective slides that can be persuasive and conveys the message well. Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT) 微软简报设计爱好者。陈劭康毕业于马来亚大学法律系，偶然下因发现大学教授和同学们受限于固有的 PPT 设计，而开始探索 PPT 设计的可能性，从此之后便与创意和设计领域工作结下不解之缘。劭康从一开始的自我摸索到后来上网观摩国外的优秀案例，逐渐意识到 PPT 设计是一门独立的设计领域，但在马来西亚却被冷落。2017 年 10 月，他开设马来西亚首个有关 PPT 设计的中文脸书专页 “Ace Slide Design”，希望借此平台提高我国人民对PPT的重视和审美观。
While studying law at the University of Malaya, Chan Shao Kang noted on how his professors and fellow classmates would struggle to create effective PowerPoint presentation slides using standard default templates provided. This led him to explore the design possibilities of the software through experimentation and by studying exemplary presentation slides from overseas. Chan discovered that there is an art in crafting good presentation slides, which is unfortunately underrated in Malaysia. He created a Facebook page called “Ace Slide Design” in 2017, with the purpose of educating the public about the importance of good PowerPoint slide design, and appreciating the details behind it.
