UK is good for education. However for Chinese, the career progression opportunity is very very limited. Will they allow British people report to a Chinese manager ?
I was pretty sure I saw Hong Kong independence banner during the 2019 protest. I think they should stay in Britain to ask for the right to vote which Britain failed to give to Hong Kong when they were under their rules for 99 years. 😂 FYI, Hong Kongers now can vote during elections.
Their children eventually will settle in and become HK-British, and they themselves when old hopefully will find peace, go home and be with their forefathers.
I lived in London for 4 months in 2024. It's dirty, not safe, expensive, and homeless people are everywhere. It's definitely not a happy mood. If you don't feel safe in your daily live, your don't even have the basic human rights. Good luck for those who moved to the UK.
I am dissapointed at the quality of this episode. No Hong Kongers are actually interviewed. They put a representative up front to speak their minds. How can one person represent all of them? Poorly made video. But I find some confort in seeing that British people (at least those showed up in the video) have an open mind and embrace this change, which might cause a change to their lives.
They did lived under the British rules in Hong Kong and think Hong Kong had freedom. Please go look it up and see how hongkonger you call yourself was really like under the British. Hong Kong was only give it freedom and right to vote year's running up to the hand over the Hong Kong people was the lowest class of people in Hong Kong the British was the top. Guy like he was leaving things the British did in Hong Kong after the talk and Hong Kong was to hand it back to China. Don't learn about the opium war how they got Hong Kong by force. It you protest in the time under the British you be lockup no question and not to see the night to day.
This guy sounds so much like a child: we just want this, we just want that, they broke promise etc. Not once he reflected on the chaos Hong Kong endured for so many years while Mainland stepped back and watching in horror the unrest in Hong Kong. Hong Kong democratic force broke the promise first: failed to enact national security law by itself as required by Basic Law item 23. And then failed again in control Hong Kong public security itself. So the Central Government was forced to step in according to the One Country Principle.
Hope Hongkongers can really have power in UK one day, the way not to be fooled by the British government is to take power and govern Britain in a better way.
