I was 7 years old in a Catholic boarding school here in Macau. I still remember every weekend the school father toke us an afternoon walk by the waterfront or to the top of the hill. That day is wonderful no cars or people walk around. The long holiday we will take the boat back to Hong Kong at night then we will arrive in Hong Kong in the morning.
Such a high quality video. My family lived as refugees in Macau during the WWII. I was six when I arrived and ten when I returned to Hong Kong. Thanks for the memories.
Your video is short but I recognize every bit of it which including the ferry I took to travel to HK with my parents and a Chinese restaurant owned by a best friend of mine in primary 2. I was a few years old at that time and that's the Macau, my birth place as I remember and miss a lot till now. Thanks for posting the video. It brings back a lot of very sentimental memory of the place.
Excellent documentary,with the backing music dovoted to you made this vid more perfect.The small white villa located around Mont Guia seems to answer the opening sequence of TO CATCH A THIEF-it look like a eastern Rivira,but not now.
@Jetfoil929100, a korean friend of mine visited Hk and then macau and she was surprised by the stark differences between the two places (and she visited in 2003). she said compared to the ppl in HK (presumably those in central), ppl in macau looked like they're on a vacation, lol!
1964 I rode Fook Shan from HK. to Macau. an experience I always treasure It is too bad that she is in the bottom of the ocean now. personally I think Macau gave up a lot for progress. simple life in the 60s is much better.
I visited Macau once .I was only 8 years old. It was alot better than H.K. Too bad the old Macau is gone forever.Wished it never changed.Prosperity really sucks.
