今天要和各位講共生緣
Today I'm going to talk about
coexistent affinities.
你們知道很多的兄弟雙胞胎
You know there are many twins,
男生 兩個男生
twin boys,
生女孩子 兩個女生
twin girls, or,
或者一男一女
a twin boy and a twin girl.
這個都共生
They're born in the same labor.
不但是雙胞胎
Not only are there twins,
還有連體嬰
but there are also Siamese twins.
一個身體兩個頭 連體嬰
They have one body with two heads.
在《阿彌陀經》裡面
In the Amitabha Sutra,
說西方極樂世界好美
it depicts the beauty
of the Western pureland
有就是說花開鳥叫
wherein there are flower blossoms and chirping birds.
鸚鵡、舍利、迦陵頻伽
It has birds like parrots,
sari, and kalavinka -
有共命之鳥
the latter of which is conjoined birds.
這一個鳥
Such a bird
兩個頭共一個命
has two heads with a conjoined body.
同體共生
They coexist in one body.
生命共同體
It is a unified co-existence.
所以我們不要以為好像
Don't ever feel that
你是你 他是他 我是我
You are you. He is he. And I am I.
不是
No.
我們生命共同體
We share a unified co-existence
彼此都有關係的
in which we are inter-related.
你說臺灣的社會
Don't think that evil men
in Taiwan's society
有壞人隨他去
have nothing to do with you.
這個一籮筐的蘿蔔
In a basket of radishes,
一個爛了
if one of them got rotten,
慢慢的會受影響會受傳染的
it will slowly influence
or infect all other radishes.
所以一定要把這個病治好
So any disease around us
should be cured instantly.
把壞人也感化成為好人
We need to reform the evil men
so that they become good men,
所以有共生的因緣
as we coexist in society.
全世界
Around the world,
你像現在
like sometimes
或者美國的總統、英國的首相
the US president,
or the British prime minister,
他們隨便一個發表的言論
would make a speech that is considered
他都能影響世界
influential in the global perspective.
你說今天大陸的領導者
Or, today if the mainland leader
他講一句話
says a remark
他有個意見
or gives an opinion,
他都會影響我們的臺灣
it can also influence Taiwan,
影響我們的臺灣的安全與否
or specifically, influence Taiwan's safety
影響我們的臺灣的未來的前途
or Taiwan's future prospects.
所以因此我覺得
Therefore I feel that
這個世間不容許我們分立
we can't allow the world to go divided.
我們大家都是有共生的關係
We all share the same
coexistent relationship.
所以要結緣不要結怨
So remember to form an affinity
rather than to incur enmity.
結怨、對立兩個不好
Enmity or opposition does us no good.
共生 我們這生命共同體
We are a unified co-existence.
我們是
Though we are
雖是異姓成為兄弟
just fraters,
有時異姓兄弟
but sometimes fraters
比親兄弟還要更好
are closer than our blood brothers.
所以這個共生的因緣
So the coexistence of cause and condition
我們不可以小視它
is not to be underestimated.
在我們平常的生活裡面
In our daily life,
或者一個小朋友
if we greet a small child
一個不認識的人
or a stranger
我們跟他講話
by talking to him,
一個微笑、一個點頭
or smiling at him,
or nodding to him friendly,
就結了緣啦
we'll make an affinity!
我們大家同在一個社區
We all live in the same community,
我們講同是在臺灣
we all live in Taiwan,
都有共生的因緣
so we have coexistent cause and condition.
同是一個中國有共生的因緣
We are of the same China,
so we have coexistent cause and condition.
同是在一個地球上
We all live in the same globe,
同體共生
hence we coexist in one unity.
地球人
We are earthmen.
所以我們大家
So we
都明白了我們彼此相互關係
should keep in mind
our mutual relationship
相互共同存在
and mutual coexistence.
這是美好的人生
This is a wonderful life.
