大铁佛禅寺位于长葛市北9公里，官亭乡官亭村境内，西与京广铁路相邻，东与佛耳岗水库相连。在省会郑州、古都开封、魏都许昌之中，交通十分便利。
大铁佛禅寺始建于唐贞观年间，兴于宋，鼎盛于明、清，与登封大法王寺一脉相承，灵气盛世，被誉称为盘龙落凤卧龟之灵地。历代帝皇、名相在此焚香拜佛，大诗人白居易在此诵诗、叩拜，并在葛天氏故里留下珍贵墨宝。铁佛寺所在的官亭村，相传周文王时在此开南北通道，修建亭子，在此召会地方诸侯，后为政府官员在此交换文书或议事，随得名官亭。
The Datiefo Zen Temple is located 9 kilometers north of Changge City, in Guanting Village, Guanting Township. It is adjacent to the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway in the west and connected to the Foergang Reservoir in the east. It is located between the provincial capital Zhengzhou, the ancient capital Kaifeng, and the Wei capital Xuchang, and the transportation is very convenient.
The Datiefo Zen Temple was first built during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Song Dynasty, and reached its peak in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is in the same vein as the Dengfeng Dafawang Temple. It is a spiritual place with a prosperous aura and is known as the spiritual place of the dragon, the phoenix, and the turtle. Emperors and ministers of all dynasties burned incense and worshiped Buddha here. The great poet Bai Juyi recited poems and kowtowed here, and left precious calligraphy in the hometown of Ge Tianshi. It is said that Guanting Village, where the Tiefo Temple is located, opened a north-south passage and built a pavilion during the reign of King Wen of Zhou. Local princes were summoned here. Later, government officials exchanged documents or discussed matters here, so it was named Guanting.
