Saikyo Line Cab View Part 2, from Akabane Station to Omiya Station. Part 1 is here ↓

Although this section is called the Saikyo Line, it is very different in character from Part 1. Part 1 was originally called the Akabane Line and opened in 1885. Part 2 opened in 1985. There is a 100-year gap.
The section in Part 1 was built primarily for freight transport. The section in Part 2 was built parallel to the new Tohoku Shinkansen line, which was to be constructed. It serves the commuter transport needs of the region and as a guarantee to the local community for the construction of the Shinkansen line. Of course, there is a high demand for commuter transport, and this route continues to have one of the highest congestion rates in the Tokyo suburbs.
The line is a typical modern elevated railway, with no railroad crossings along the entire line. Many apartment buildings have been built on both sides of the tracks.

アクセスありがとうございます。埼京線の前面展望パート2です。今回は赤羽駅から大宮駅まで。新幹線の運転本数が多いですね(大宮以南なのだから当然か)。追い抜かれていて、結構快感🙂でした。
