I really didn't mind the shaky bits. It reminds me of the some journeys I had as a boy. One of railways had diesel trains which vibrated noisily at certain engine speeds. Putting your head against the window made your teeth chatter!

Such evening moods are always something special - of course, this also applies to the railway in particular 👍 The window struts and equipment of the train are a little distracting in the picture... but that can't always be completely avoided, unless you have a good relationship with the railway company or the train driver... who would then agree to place the camera/smartphone directly at the window. ☺️ You probably only filmed in HD and not in 4K!? For example, I have the problem with my iPhone 13 that it quickly gets very warm in 4K mode at 30 or 60 fps and has sometimes crashed (refused to record further)! That's why I only ever film short sequences of a maximum of two minutes with it, with my small digital camera it would be longer and better - but the poor sensitivity in poor lighting conditions like here in the evening rules out using it for this 🫤
@14ikesan12
@14ikesan12 14 часов назад
This time I'm shooting in 4K mode on my iPhone, but when the subject gets dark, the sensitivity setting automatically increases and the image quality seems to drop. If I were to shoot using the video function of a general mirrorless camera instead of a smartphone, the image quality could be improved, but it would be difficult to hold the camera. This is a matter of balance as to what to choose, but I would like to find a clearer answer as soon as possible. By doing so, the subjects of my interviews will be significantly broadened. However, I still do not have the financial resources to introduce the highest quality equipment, and I think that the use of extravagant equipment should be avoided because it would cause stress to the railway company and other passengers. It's a hobby, so I'll be gentle.

@@wandajackson3410 Thank you for your comment. Of course, works of higher quality will strike the hearts of many people and survive. If we do not aim for that, we will stagnate and decline. However, quality does not simply mean the performance of the lens. If the performance of the lens is the criterion for judgment, Capa and Atget have been forgotten. That "ambiguity of the scale" is art. Let's continue to enjoy each other.

14 Ikesan. You keep coming up with the most interesting videos! At least to an American here in Arizona's end of the Sonoran Desert. I admire the work you put into them. They might seem like normal sights, in Japan, but to our eyes, they are unique. We don't have the electrification that you have, and, except in rare circumstances, we don't have the frequency of stations. I really thank you for all the effort that you put into bringing us these videos.

Greetings 14 Ikesan. I find this to be one of your most beautiful videos! The evening light kind of highlights the colors of the buildings and scenery, along the tracks. The lights at each station make them stand out like they don't do during the day. And the reflection in the cab window does NOT detract from the rest of the video! That's my opinion, and my opinion counts, in my opinion (enough opinions for you?). I really enjoyed this video.

Thank you for your comment. I'm relieved to receive such a positive comment. Driving at night, whether in a car or on a train, narrows the human field of vision, which makes us feel anxious. This video also has that kind of character, so I hesitated about uploading it. (It's hard to get lost when you see glittering skyscrapers one after the other, like on the Yurikamome Line.) However, I wanted to show the atmosphere of Japanese trains at night, so I uploaded it, knowing that the image quality would be degraded. My next challenge is to improve the image quality and depict dark areas.

A German saying goes: "Brevity is the soul of wit..." That's why the short running time of the video is not a bad thing at all! A very interesting line and journey in the best film quality - especially the three-rail track: in front of Mutsuura station, the third track changes from the right edge of the main track to the left... 🤔 and behind the station back again, each time via interesting switch connections! I can imagine that this is to maintain the distance to the platform so that the vehicles with the smaller track width don't get stuck on it (clearance profile)... At the end, the 1067mm track goes off to the left, probably not that many vehicles are produced, hence the rusty track. And for me as a European, of course, there is a lot to discover next to the track, such as a fire engine at the end or a road construction site 👍
@14ikesan12
@14ikesan12 23 часа назад
Thank you for your comment. A fire truck! I don't often get the chance to see one either, so it made me a little happy. Modern fire trucks are smart. I spoke to someone who actually drives one, and he told me that fire trucks have a short service life. That's because these trucks are only used when they're in "100% or 0" condition. The Zushi Line is a short line lacking in special character, but it is notable for having a dual-gauge section and for the remaining forest belt beyond Jinbutsu-ji Station (on the left side of this image), which is not visible in the cab view.

Hi 14 Ikesan. Another one of your fascinating videos. I get a kick out of the weeds getting ahead of the track gang's weed whackers. We don't have that kind of problem in most of the US. Thank you for your comment. Keihin Express Railway (Keikyu) has relatively high morals among its railway workers, but they can't keep up with the summer weeds. Summer in Japan is hot and humid, and it's hard for us Japanese to deal with it. Trevor Bauer, a pitcher who played in Japan last year, said, "I have experience in Arizona." Short video with a very nice idea 👍 ! From a perspective that 99 percent of travelers experience exactly like that - as I already wrote to you, it is not possible for normal travelers to enjoy the driver's cab view in German trains like in most Japanese multiple units... It would certainly be funny if people in the trains traveling parallel to each other recognized each other at some point: "Ooh, that was me back then..." 😊

Reminiscence of so-called better times or a pitying smile: "Oh, that's how backward people were back then...!?" I myself did not know where this route actually passed until I actually rode it. I have the impression that the discovery of this route suddenly revitalized the railway network centered on Tokyo. People living along the line must have been surprised. Until then, it was a rundown route with few trains running on it.

Before writing a reply to you, I happened to write about the problem of the shooting method in response to a comment in Japanese, and wrote that picking up vibrations was a challenge. Currently I shoot with a smartphone, but I can think of measures such as changing it to a CCD. However, there is also the issue of budget. Also, I don't think I should spread out my equipment too much. It's not an official railway company shoot, but rather a sharing from the perspective of a fan. I want to improve in a relaxed manner, having fun with everyone here and there, and if we fail, that's fine too. I'm not sure about many things, though.

I can understand that... the whole thing shouldn't degenerate into personal and financial stress: it's simply your hobby with which you, as a private individual, give us wonderful insights into the Japanese railways! I film myself with an iPhone 13 and have to say that it really produces great images, but I have rarely taken pictures while running - not to mention a cab view ride... So I also have to make compromises and a big dream would be to buy a Panasonic Lumix S5II: it is supposed to be very good in the video area and, above all, have excellent image stabilization! However, I would also need lenses (L-mount)... the whole thing would be quite expensive. But of course we humans can always dream 😊

@@wandajackson3410 When Japan built the Shinkansen, Shinji Sogou, who was the president of the Japanese National Railways at the time, took strong leadership. At that time, many people thought that the construction of the Shinkansen was a wasteful dream story. Sogou invited Hideo Shima from a private company to be the head of the technical department. Shima had previously worked for the Japanese National Railways, but had retired from the company after taking responsibility for a major accident (the Sakuragicho accident). Sogou praised Shima, who refused to return to the company, citing his advanced age (he was in his 50s).

Delightful as always. The harbour moonlit scene was a treat.

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad. To tell you the truth, I got bitten by quite a lot of mosquitoes.
