What a fantastic, milestone movie. The two leading men are wonderful, but all the cast was soooo amazing. They gave all their art & heart. And you see the outcome...
That was Anthony James...He was great playing those type of roles..You should watch him the movie Burnt Offerings..He passed away in 2020..He also played the villian in the 2nd Naked Gun movie with Leslie Nielsen.
@Anna, that's exactly what I thought when I first heard this song foul owl...Little red Riding Hood by Sam the sham and the Pharaohs. The skinny dude that played the part during that song was a creeper 😂🤣
@@RU-vidallowedmynametobestolen No, it was not an existing song and it was in fact written for this movie. Quincy Jones wrote the music and the Bergman's wrote the lyrics. This song is actually both a song AND a prop and comes at a VERY important and pivotal point in the movie. They lyrics are about a man, described as an owl, who is on the prowl for his next victim in the dark of night. Combine that with the creepy inbred deep southern hick who plays the cook who is actually a suspect and the climax of Gillespie's ordering Virgil out of town for his own safety and Virgil's refusal to go and its quite a scene.
The song was written just for the movie. They wanted to use "Hey Little Red Riding Hood" by Sam The Sham and The Pharos bui the publisher just wanted way too much money to let them use it. The song they came up with was brilliant as it had the same mood and cadence as "Little Red Riding Hood"
