Lorenzo also studied Xing Yi Quan with other masters. His questions about the "Five Fists" are stimulating and are also an opportunity to talk about the characteristics of this important style. Many of Xin Yi's bare hand techniques actually originate from the use of traditional weapons and the ancient strategies of the battle lines. With appropriate precautions these concepts can also be useful in a modern context.

Master Basili reminds me a lot of my teacher. He grew up studying kung fu mostly in the 70s and learned multiple styles.

It's a good way to get to know Chinese culture. The moves we see are only part of the presentation of martial arts. In fact, the basis of Chinese martial arts is to change the body structure and reaction by standing on piles, so as to transmit the natural strength of muscles and bones under the neural reflex guided by the subconscious mind. Any martial art without foundation is a move. It is not easy to practice. I experienced it once in Beijing.

@@DanteBasili ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EwNhYEAkbIw.html This is master has total changed his bone structure of shoulder and hipbone more like a tiger,He is the onlyone I saw can make this power to human body. I thought that was fake first time I saw his video. I went back to Beijing 2018 and tried myself, I was just wow. I trained lots of combat technique, but all not works for him.

It is called Dacheng Quan or YI Quan, most of YI Quan masters do not have that power but more techniques. You will get shocked if you try yourself, trust me man

Shi-Fu's Xin-Yi is very sturdy and looked good. The Praying Mantis was decent but I will disagree a bit with it. In 7 Stars praying mantis, the steps are big in the beginning and actually lower. That is to practice the monkey steps and also develop the strength on the lower body/legs. As the practioner advances, the steps are actually smaller and shrinks and then eventually, it is invisible. I practice my mantis wide and low twice a week. Other times, it is shrunk in mid-frame range. Love some of the explanations. And Shi-Fu's Ba-Gua is very impressive when he does the steps. The spear seems a lot shorter than the ones we are used to.. thanks for the video

Dante, mi ero sempre chiesto di questo stile e come hai sottolineato tu mira al centro proprio come il Wing Chun, in buona parte almeno, in un perenne contrattacco in cui non c'è un prima ed un dopo.. Grazie come sempre, Massimiliano

Is the combination of shield and knife of military origin or civilian? I would surmise a professional army would have at least a short sword or single edge one handed sword. This seems like something a militia or poor town levy combination of arms.
@DanteBasili
@DanteBasili 2 года назад
The knife was just the first item I found at hand to explain the concept. In any case, the Xing Yi seems to have a military origin, armed, and then only later a bare hand development (the legend of General Yue Fei, expert in spear)

@@davidmack5689 wow, Master Sun Lu Tang was the man. Considered Number one in his days. In some of the Karate Dojos in Japan, they have photo of him in their Dojo along with their sensei that visited Mr. Sun and was defeated. His Xin-Yi was said to be the most perfect of all. His daughter carried it on until she was in her 90s. I only had a chance to meet one of her students here in the U.S years ago and had 3 days and it felt like I benefitted tons from those three days. Mr. Sun's Tai-Chi from Wu and then he added Xin-Yi/BaGua to the Tai=Chi was ingenius... I am jealous...are you in the U.S?? Do you teach?
